imagine all that work and build up to be in the nba, let alone the excitement to play your first game of the season, just to break your leg, and how much that must affect someone.

Looking up the full story actually gives you slightly more closure: he was payed out his full contract of 128 million dollars by the celtics following this incident. He also was playing for the Jazz before the celtics so he still got to have a career and play for awhile before this happened to him (spent 14 years in the nba total, his career earnings from the nba was 320million overall)

Gordon Hayward’s always hurt me. He was one of my underdog favorites. The D Rose story is literally heartbreaking tho. Who knows what he would have truly become, being he was so young when the second knee injury happened. The explosiveness, the direction change, finishing ability, a shot, the IQ. It really warmed my heart to see him truly leading again this past season, and playing the role, if only one more time, he was born for and robbed of. He’s such a nice, humble guy, it’s hard not to both feel awful, and still hope to see him get his flowers one day.

the guy was trying to beat the shot clock, and maybe trying to get a foul, it was a simple accident. The guy had no reason to attempt or expect to injure someone with a pump fake since most people tend to try to move out of the way, once they jump, and miss.

13:31 I’ve popped both my Achilles. It actually doesn’t hurt like you’d think it would. It’s more of a weird feeling because you have zero power all of a sudden and you don’t know why. It’s how I knew when I popped the second one exact,y what it was. Now post-surgery is a COMPLETELY different discussion.
