"Dimebag Darrell Walks Into A Bar" is probably one of my best videos of Dimebag sitting in with ASKA. I shot this video on June 26th 2004 at "Monte Carlos" in Arlington, Texas near Dimebag's house. Darrell frequently sat in with ASKA, especially after the break up of Pantera and before Damageplan. This particular night was a lot of fun. The Damageplan guys had just gotten home from the MTV HeadBangers tour with Damageplan and HateBreed. Dimebag was still pumped from being back on the road again and was ready to party with friends, family, and fans. You can probably tell that Darrell had his fair share of BlackTooths that night.

This made me smile. First ever metal band that I got into. I was in a recording studio late at night practicing by myself ( I was a drummer in a Blues band) and heard a band next door play this class music. So I knocked on the door and asked them if I could sit in and listen, it turned out the song was Domination. So a few shots of poitin later I was sent on my way with Cowboys From Hell & Vulgar Display Of Power. Magic Night!

Never met him or saw him live despite having the opportunity to. Dime is the most influential musician for me personally. I listen to Pantera most days, a bit of damageplan and I need lots of motivation to fight my disability which is extremely painful and metal music really helps. More than that was the absolutely LEGENDARY stories of being nice to everyone - I can be grumpy and moody because of my spine issue but some is one big inspiration to be humble, be cool, be friendly and to keep smiling and have fun.

I've been fortunate enough to see Pantera live 3 times, and am still insanely jealous of this band and all the people in the bar.

I got tickets for Pantera, Sepultura & Biohazard but it ended up being Pantera & Prong but I would have preferred to see Sepultura as well, but they dropped out because of injuries or something. But it was Dimebags birthday & he was fucking wasted & could barely walk but still tore shit up on guitar

No super rockstar pretentiousness with Dime. He just wanted to play, just wanted to rock. No megalomaniacal egotism at all, just a normal dude that wanted to jam. RIP Dime! 🦅🇺🇸
