Hope is Gone is a first-person action horror game with a retro art style.
You play as Zoe, an ordinary woman who has made many mistakes in the past. Zoe takes a bus to go to the hospital where her husband is hospitalized, but falls asleep. When she wakes up, she is in a totally decadent and dark parallel dimension. The beings of this world hate humans and will do anything to capture Zoe and any other human.
Survival-horror:
The inhabitants of this decadent world will come after you, fight to defend yourself or run away to save resources. Don't get lost. Stay alert.
Explore:
This decadent world is very different from ours, explore the environments to find routes to your destination and look for items that will help you survive.
Discover:

Don't you just hate it when you're told your husband needs to be taken off of life support, end up in a parallel dimension, kill you husband three times, save him, then realise he's not too happy about you killing him? Honestly, the twist at the end was quite interesting. Also, there are some loose threads leaving this open to a sequel: 1. What happens with Kyle, especially if he remembers you when he wakes up? 2. Are people like Ezdrak really just people from our world who have been twisted by hatred, and if so, what role did Dr. Krak play in twisting them? 3. Who has the grimoire and is it really in our world? I'd really love a sequel that addressed these questions. Perhaps Dr. Krak has a clue about the grimoire's whereabouts and agrees to keep your husband from killing you in exchange for you retrieving the grimoire. Or perhaps Dr. Krak himself has it and that's how he's able to send people between dimensions. If so, what are his intentions? Did he intentionally kill their sacred tree to force them to begin growing the... RED TREES? If so, this could literally tie into Deadly Premonition, although we do know at least one Red Tree existed in our world nearly a century ago. That would be a great angle for a spiritual successor to explore, since we likely won't be getting a Deadly Premonition 3. Of course, the combat will have to be a bit more involved, and it might help to bring the graphics up to PS2 standards, but I'm all for it!

I LOVE when I start watching a gameplay and I discover its made by brazilian devs. I recognized because I think its based in an urban legend called Sete Além. Some people claim to go visit this weird paralel reality where everyone knows you are a foreigner and they try to warn you to go back where you came from, otherwise you will be lost there forever. Pretty creepy.

@@Sansan-the-duck literal translation into English: Seven Beyond and apparently it is an original legend from Brazil, probably modern, but I think the most famous story dates back to the 90s, so it has existed for several decades. It was supposed to be another dimension, a kind of parallel universe or alternative reality, which coexists at the same time as our own reality. We could all reach this other dimension, the problem is that no one knows exactly how to do it. "October 1994, Luciano Milici, an advertising student at ESPM - Vila Mariana campus - went through what they call the “Setealém Incident”, “Prime Report” or “First Contact”. If you are not familiar with the bus report, it is recommended Check out the video below or any podcast that Milici has participated in or that has Setealém as its theme." There is even a KZbin channel dedicated to this: Canal Oficial de Setealém. The Setealém Official Channel is the largest and most complete channel on the subject, the only one with canonical reports. It is the channel that ends up being an (unintentional) source of content for other KZbin and TikTok channels that copy and derive reports without due authorization. SPELLING: The term Setealém was heard by Luciano Milici and, to this day, it is not possible to say whether the correct spelling is Setealém, Cetealém, 7 Além, 7 Além or Se7ealém. The place would be very similar to our reality, but in a darker way. The reports that exist say that the place has a dark and dirty appearance, in addition to the fact that the people who live there have some physical characteristics that are a little different from ours, such as, for example, much deeper and completely black eyes, very similar to the that we see in some horror films. There are two well-known ways to do this. The first way is through an order. Yes, you would have to be ordered by someone there, sinister right? Everything that exists in our world also exists in SeteAlem, just like people, just like you and me. So, someone from there who knows your version from there would have to order your version from here. Got confused? Calm down, I'll give you an example! Let's assume that the version of you, who lives in that parallel universe, died, and your parents from that reality did not accept that fact. So, they can simply order their self from our world to go to SeteAlem, to supply that place. The beings from Setealém would have a much more powerful influence between the two worlds, and that would be what would make this “exchange” possible. When you arrive at the place, whoever ordered you will act normally, as if you actually belonged to that place, as if you had lived your entire life in that reality. Everything will go on normally, but it will be a totally macabre day-to-day life for you. The second way would be with a kind of ritual, which needs to be done inside an elevator! Take an elevator, completely alone, and go to the 4th floor, then go to the 2nd, then the 6th and the 10th, exactly in that order. The ritual will be broken if, during the process, someone enters the elevator. When you reach the 10th floor, don't go down, press the button for the 5th floor. When you get there, a young woman will enter the elevator, but don't talk to her! After the woman enters, press the button for the ground floor. When you press the button, the elevator will no longer go to the ground floor, but will go up to the 10th floor. During the ascent, do not press any other buttons or the experiment will fail. Once you pass the 9th floor, the ritual will be practically guaranteed. But there is only one way to be sure that you really went to the seven beyond. How to get back from there? In this other world, there is only one person: You. The girl who took the elevator to the 5th floor is no longer a human being. The problem is, the only known way to get out of there depends a little on how you got there. The best-known way to escape the place would be to kill the people who ordered you and do everything over again, like the day you ended up in Sete Além. By killing the people who requested you there, Sete Além will no longer have any reason to keep you there. § After killing whoever ordered you, repeat each step you took before being transported. If you woke up and went to a store, do the same in seven beyond, until you arrived at the bus stop, exactly at the same time you arrived in the real world. The Setealém bus will be there, waiting to take you away. You will be dropped off at exactly the same place, day and time as you were picked up.

I really enjoyed this game. Enemies had a good health system, you had to be careful fighting them. Theres npcs to interact with, cool story, lengthy game, not boring. I just really enjoyed this game! Thank you for playing! Your commentary is always fun to listen too

Ok , earlier I was annoyed by a certain comment but I now see why they commented that....some of the game dialogue could use some work / extra work ( proof reading & such ) . Game item in inventory : "lantern" ( looks like flash light ) me : That's not a lantern but it is a light source... I think the dev doesn't put enough interactive things around & not enough items around , I dislike games that rail road the player as well. Some blocked off areas with no way to go past them except walk all the way around them , locked / blocked doors with no way to get past them , etc. We can get an axe but not use it to chop down those boards on the boarded up door?! 😕 I agree , I don't like the fact we couldn't save Mederak or what ever her name was & with some changes the game would be better. It's kinda ok the way it is now but imo , it could be so much better. I'm glad the story started making more sense the further you go & read notes , trigger cut scenes , etc. I like the kinda Silent Hill / Deadly Premonition vibes 🤣 Ok , kinda like the story now that I've watched the whole thing....and this game is so violent lol
