definitely my favorite so far! what a great story. it's definitely of the time, but in some ways it feels ahead of its time. I havent heard a story so old thats so empathetic towards disabled people, and the romantic leads even get to have a happy ending for once! this one will be hard to top for me but I'll keep listening

This is the forerunner of "Logan's Run" and The Twilight Zone episode "The Obsolete Man" with Burgess Meredith as the condemned librarian. It's amazing how science fiction writers ALWAYS have a BLEEK view of the future. This story starts off in 1991, after the 3rd NUCLEAR WAR has caused "FUTURE GENERATIONS" to live underground for the NEXT 2,000 years.🤷🤷
