I learn so much from you. You should’ve been a teacher. You have such a calming voice. When I get frustrated with a craft I can always count on one of your videos to get me out of my funk. Beautiful card.

Love this alternative to markers.... I’m sooo not good at them yet! This card is beautifully done. You ARE an expert. And.....stress... overwhelmingness. ( trying to hit all comments). From a mom who has been there and is not there anymore.... but now seeing her eldest daughter in this spot...you HAVE to choose what’s most important and figure out priorities.... because you only hurt you in the end. Forgetfulness is a sign of fatigue... until you get to my age... then it’s just accepted. 🤦♀️. I was there when my kids were younger and in loved and I had to be involved in everything. Not even sire they remember that now. Slow down. Pare down on things... if you can. It’s so hard... I know. But you are worth your own self care. Love, Another Mom. 💕🙋♀️

My daughter and I were just talking about all the things we card makers have to use now days. All the mists and pastes and embellishments. We've come so far and yet those tried and true techniques are still great! Great card, as always!

Love the card! So pretty, and love the vintage colors. Yes, you should have received a magnetic wand with the polish. You can contact LiveLove and tell them you were very sad because you didn’t get your magnet with your polish, and they should send it to you. Thanks for sharing the new Honey Bee release!

That is such a pretty card. I've always liked inking the edges of things and you don't see people do it so much anymore. Although I never got as detailed about the shading as you did here. Mostly since before I started watching you and some other Copic colorists I never thought much about shading. lol. That nail polish is so pretty so I looked it up, and it does say that it includes a magnetic wand so they jipped you LOL. I don't paint my nails very often, although many years ago I mixed some purple Pearl ex into some clear nail polish and painted my nails with that for a class I taught showing many different ways to use Pearl EX. 😂

Really gorgeous card, Kelly!!! I love the colors you used, and the shading you achieved is magnificent. I laughed at your comment that you were committed to the craft. You have such a way with words--just the way you put them together. :) Your being stressed makes me sad, though. I hope things get better for you, & soon. With my mental illness, stress just seems to go with the territory, some times more than others. Usually I just have to wait it out. I keep a rather (ahem, large) stash of junk mail. Basically, I just don't sort through it to tear off parts to shred, recycle, or trash when it comes. BUT, on my worst depression or craziness days, I can take a bunch of junk mail and sort my little heart out. That way, if I can't mentally manage to focus so I can sit down & craft or whatever, at least I still keep busy, and it's something mindless but basically worthwhile. My counselor calls it "productive procrastination." Anyway, maybe you just need to take a mindless break & sort junk mail. Shredding papers also helps me. Like I said, I really & truly hope things ease up for you. Stress sucks. Take care of yourself, and have an awesome day! :)

I don’t remember if you’ve tried them or not but I’m really loving the brushes for coloring with my distress inks. I use the smaller ones to add my shadows. They work really well for that. And I feel like I have more control overall with applying the ink.

Love your card as usual! I also have the magnetic nail polish, have it done at a salon, and they do one nail at a time. Using the little black light thing to dry them, it goes pretty fast. Mine are magenta with a gold line that seems to move. I love them!!

Awesome card! I ordered some of that nail polish and have never used it. I thought it looked so cool. I really need to use it. I think mine came with a magnet but I'm not sure. I'm with you on the sparkly stuff. I'm remodelling my house and I had my bedroom painted a pale pink and had a glitter glaze put on the ceiling. It is so cool! It's not like you walk in and the glitter knocks you down, it's very subtle and iridescent. The rest of the house is done in blues and grey. I don't know how I got on this subject, sorry. Love the video.

Kelly, you just make the most beautiful cards! I’ve been following you for a while and everything you do is so perfect in details and tastefully, beautiful colors always,you definitely are an expert 👍. I was listening to your story when you started, I just got some Copic and Spectrum Noir markers,strictly for coloring. I have done a lot of digital coloring,but this is different and I guess I didnt realize if you want to do the nice blending,shading things it takes a while to learn. Well right now I only want to do straight coloring and learn slowly. I subscribe to a site where can download drawings to color, they are made for 8.5 x 11 papers, just like in coloring books. I wanted to ask you since you worked here with the distress ink, what is the best to use if I want to do a little background? I know the Memento ink works well with the Copics, how about the distress ink, or chalk palette pastels,Jane Davenport has some nice colors. But someone else told me if I use the chalk pastels by themselves I have to use a fixative? I don’t know too much about this, you are so nice, I thought I ask you. Which one is the simplest, i don’t want to do any embossing, just coloring with markers and some background,and i would use too much ink if I would do it with the markers, plus the inkpad sounds a much better way to me. If you have a chance, when you have time, I would appreciate your advice. I also hope things will get easier for you,since you talked about the stress. Unfortunately we all live with it. I’m retired now,but I know how it was driving in traffic and construction. Was hard to deal with it. I am in Florida now,but I lived in Cincinnati before. Where in Ohio do you live? Well,take care and have a nice weekend!😊🌺🌹
@KellyTaylorCards5 жыл бұрын
Welcome to the world of crafting! It's wonderful here :) If you want to do ink blended backgrounds I would recommend either distress ink or distress oxide. I have colored over both with my Copic markers without any issues. If you're talking about stamping in Copic safe ink I would recommend Gina K Amalgum ink, Hero Arts Intense Black or Simon says Stamp Intense Black. You do need a fixative for chalk pastels. I haven't used them in years so I don't have one to recommend. I hope this helps. I'm from Cleveland, I'm sure Florida weather is much nicer!

Beautiful card, as usual, Kelly!! I love it when you "do all the things" to your backgrounds as it always adds the perfect touch. I like this technique since I struggle with Copic blending. Sometimes the results are great, but other times, UGH!! I'd love to find an IRL class for one-on-one instruction. I'm also in Ohio, Columbus area, so if you know of such a class, please let me know. Your nails are gorgeous and I will admit, I've never heard of magnetic nail polish, but it sounds and looks very cool.
