This man! A hero of mine... A genius with the ball. Most United fans called him lazy and then he left and everybody said I miss Berba... 1st touch? He could control the weather that man! Beautiful player

Obviously slowing down the time has helped a lot with the 1st touch. Dark arts school teachers are always "lazy" to the untrained eyes of a Muggle.

As a utd fan, hearing him talk about being dropped for the 2011 CL final really shows how mature he is as a person - "of course I'm disappointed and angry, but there was no issues with the manager" - the level of empathy he has for the manager's impossible decision, even with his own disappointment, and most importantly being able to talk about the disappointment without simply disengaging - just proves he had the character to play for a big club. Really gotta love and respect the man.

It is still a mystery for me WHY he wasn´t the main man upfront in the Champions League that season. Instead, they played with Park-Ji-Sung, Rooney and Javier Hernandéz, are you kidding me?!?!? Sir Alex lost the plot there.

Berbatov is an absolute football legend. Such an inspirational soccer player. Most calm and cool striker ever. Composure on the pitch unmatched. He was one of a kind with his skills, talent and intelligence. Miss his style so much. Loved his career. Easily one of the most influential sport idols in my childhood I always looked up to him. Performances, goals and assists from him were a thing of beauty. I wonder how nervous defenders were facing against him before matches because he was so good, clever and amazing at finishing in the frontline. Must have been absolutely terrifying for them knowing they had to deal with Berbatov.

He is a delight to listen to, so composed and calm but foremost, he speaks so true and genuinely about respect for the club and players. "Everyone has earned the same amount of respect" when entered the room of Champions League winners. With that attitude you build strong character and you build a strong football club. My feeling is that todays football players are way too entitled and in general lacks the respect and gratitude Berbatov so beautifully describe and talk about in this interview. Berb, you are one the best, we were lucky to have you.

Not many had same/similar style to him(i can only think of Bergkamp) Was hoping Liverpool to buy him when he was at leverkusen and spurs, only to be gutted see him play for United. Torres was great but Berbatov was on another level. He was like a magician and a wizard on the pitch while Torres was sometimes inconsistent and out of form especially his Chelsea and later on Atlético Madrid era. His best seasons were easily early Liverpool (first three seasons). But both world class and outstanding strikers for sure nobody can deny that. I used to admire Torres a lot too despite being a Man Utd fan because he was such a good and a clever finisher and good with the ball at his feet. But Berbatov is easily my favorite soccer player of all time. So incredibly talented, skillful and was always super faithful and loyal to Man Utd, Tottenham and Bayern Leverkusen. Very underrated. Miss his football style and era so much. Like an artist in a uniform outfit.

The only place he ever got criticised for his style was at man utd, the club with the clueless fans who just rate fast players who pretend to be working hard. If he was English he would have been bigger than he was big up berba respect is definitely due. Now take out the trash 😅😅😅😅 💚🙏

But nothing for Bulgarian national team ...hopeless. ...The only true international legend from Bulgaria is a great Hristo Stoickov ...

@@nebod1556 there's a whole bunch of players who played in that 94' squad which reached the semi-finals. And Berba is a legend. Just gave up from the national team for valid reasons. Looking at our team now i really wish those players were young again

@@nebod1556 Berbatov is actually Bulgaria's leading all time goal scorer. The rest of the Bulgarian team just wasn't good enough after the Golden Era of the 90's. About Hristo Stoichkov… nothing can compare to him, haha :)

Mas A SAF went with Owen instead of him..I don’t know why but that’s one of the worst decision SAF has made

Looks like he could still play, felt like him and drogba could keep producing no matter their age compared to other strikers. There are just some players who’s mind can figure out how to stilll be productive no matter what
