I understand that it is difficult to find actors who are truly similar and who also know how to play and therefore mimic the movements of the musicians.I know that the important thing is the narrative, but every time there are notable discrepancies: here John is shorter than Ringo. The hairstyles (wigs) are very approximate; probably the general public does not notice it, but the fans do notice all these details and turn up their noses.

While the actor does his character well in my opinion, for me, he looks like a kid amongst the other, which takes a bit away from the experience. I have seen the film, and read critics about it beforehand, so my expectations were not too high. I believe it tries to much and uses a certain way of telling the story (throws in some high level facts in certain places to set up the context). Of course it focuses on Brian, maybe I know the story too well, so it left me quite disengaged. My etalon in terms of biopics is still Backbeat (1994). Still I'll be interested to see the films about the Beatles themselves.

Sadly all I read is people trashing the film, complaining about the hair, the height, the voice..... I personally loved that movie. The actors were brilliant, and finally I feel like we have an honest and unpretentious biopic about what the boys were like before they became legends...... just four young lads from Liverpool living their best lives doing what they loved most, not having a clue that their music was about to change the world forever. Of all movies about the Fab Four, this is my favourite. But it's mostly about Brian Epstein really, which makes it even more interesting.

People constantly wonder why is so hard to make a movie about the Beatles and why most of the ones that are made don't have a lot of the boys. Well, when you read some comments it's clear why. People will neatpick every fucking detail. Yes, the actor who plays John is shorter, but DAMN the kid nailed the voice and everything else. I think we all know by know that movies and actors are not the real people and events will be changed for the benefit of the narrative. So, CHILL OUT! Why everyone bought Rami Malek and his tiny body frame but a pocket-size John is a big deal? I actually loved it, like a dream come true, tbf. I really liked this movie, reminded me of "A Hard Day's Night" and "Help!" . I loved seing the boys just being boys, honestly! Not to mention Brian finally has more recognition in their story, his struggles and genious do deserve more light. I think things got a little bit rushed by the end, but overall, I know I'll watch it again many times. Edit: Great job with the video, btw!

Great editing! I think it's unforgivable that the actor they chose to portray Lennon looked like Howard Wolowitz and that his closeness with Brian (and I'm not exclusively referring to that blurry episode in Spain) wasn't explored. That "Lennon" even was childish and had a lack of leadership and bravado of the early days. There's a film, "The Birth of the Beatles" that you can find in KZbin which shows a more believable and truthful approach of this, even though that film encompasses a different historical period (late 50s to 1962). I know "Midas Man" is not a film about The Beatles, but the band is inherently part of Brian's personal history! Brian made them worldwide famous, and by 1966 he was terrified they wouldn't need him any longer (The film should've explore this a bit more). The actor who portrayed Brian did a great job (his manierisms!), although I originally expected someone who resembles Brian a bit more. Other notable casting: George Martin and Paul.

Note that it is a copyright issue.
