Is a phone good enough for photogrammetry?

With phones getting better and better in taking photographs one might wonder: Are they any good for photogrammetry? This is what we're going to test out in this video!

Linear Polarised film for the light:

This very much depends on the size of your light. If you have a smaller light you can get something smaller than A2. And of course the other way around.
Gobe lens polarise filter:

Make sure you buy the right size for your lens. Or you can get a bigger filter and use step down rings for all your lenses

It’s called Photocatch. Photocatch uses Apple’s Object Capture API available in Mac OS Monterey.

If he was simply hating he would not have made the comparison for you to decide, bear in mind number 2 could be achieved by post processing as he suggested, yet the iphone couldn't get to number 1 even if it tried, meaning it takes control away from the user and just assumes what you want, which is never good if you're doing something serious lol

I'd say most phones will only work well enough for Gen 1 captures. The last couple generations have better cameras and will definitely stay on for gen 2.
