After watching this I realize I have dealt with first daughter syndrome my whole life. Even though I am the only child, I am always being held responsible for everything and when I don’t do something perfectly, it always seem like I am irresponsible. Starting to get used to living my own life and not bothering whether or not I do things perfectly. Thanks Dimmah & FK for your advice ❤.

It really wasn't always childrening enough for first daughters. I remember telling my friends I never saw Lion King as a child, all my siblings did and she asked me what i was doing with my childhood. It's just a lot of responsibility for the first daughter. I have an older brother but anytime my mom was leaving the house, she'd ask me to look after my siblings. It was the moment I wanted to play my mom calls me to attend to one chore or the other. Omo! I missed out on childhood a lot. Being born as a first daughter is an automatic responsibility

The parentification of the firstborn daughter is the reason for a lot of women's mental issues, particularly the Nigerian woman. I still struggle to say no, to not over-worry, to not feel anxious is expecting issues to arise or to be called to solve them. And I have a toddler girl, and I'm hoping I don't put the same pressures on her. Unfortunately, I was born to a firstborn daughter and firstborn son, I'm guessing this led to it. And funny enough, so is my daughter. I'm hoping to get better and do better for mine
