In the 80's there was a band called the Mummies (I just saw them last Saturday, fantastic) who coined the term "Budget Rock". They dressed as mummies, to obscure their identity, played cheap instruments bought at pawn stores, recorded everything in one take with no dubbing, toured in an old beat up hearse and only released vinyl. Dimmu Borgir IS Budget Stoner Old School Death Metal and they should be proud of that. They obvious enjoy what they are doing and are unashamed of not having a mountain of money for videos and recording. Keep going! Can't wait to see you tour the World!

Been listening to Dimmu Bongir's album a ton since it released. Really hope they make more in the same vein at some point! Brings back the vibe of Stormblast and For All Tid again. I would definitely buy Hvis pipen tar oss on vinyl or CD if it ever got reissued.

It`s Meta-BM, pushing the frontier Absolutely outstanding! Led by Emperor-esk backgrounded synths, the old-school BM kicked in and knew to entertain. The Isengard-Vibes that startet near the end got me in an ancient, ceremonial mood, and then the very last "incantation" ruined my sanity while perfectly completing the song! And then, ,there`s the video...oh my lords, the video.....

El contenido de sus letras hace referencia a cannabis y drogas de uso recreativo... ejemplo la cancion A Witch is stoned la cual hace referencia a Witch is Born original de Gehenna y muchas mas de bandas clasicas de Black metal, Satyricon, Darkthrone, Mayhem. (Transylvanian munchies, Pagan rips) Sin embargo la composicion, produccion y sonido hace que suene muchisimo mejor a muchas bandas que hay ahora en el genero.
