The sun was way too intense for this festival. I think the biggest cheer came when the smallest cloud covered the sun for about 10 seconds of relief. 🤣 Loved the Dimmu set, but would have been better if they were performing when dusk arrived. Same for Dark Funeral. Nice to spot myself in the crowd, though! :D

I respect your opinion, as I still upvoted it, but their latest material is just subpar and miles away inferior to what has been accomplished in the past. Puritanical is among the 100 best metal albums, ever. And this is saying a lot, considering the dominant and diverse styles of heavy metal that are. Nick and Galder were probably more important in the downfall than Vortex himself as they elevated every band they were in, especially together. Dimmu Borgir is still the most complete black metal band to ever exist aside with Cradle of Filth.

Nice performance Not until watching a lot of videos from other festivals like this one, have I appreciated those huge hangars that Hellfest put up to create the dark atmosphere for bands during the day so they can play at least a little with lightning, fog etc. - obviously it's not pitch dark in there, but it really helps since they focus a lot of extreme metal bands in the two hangars p.s.: the sound is great but man how awesome is shagrath's voice still to this day - he must take good care I guess
