Absolutely true, mostly due to the fact that all the spice of the guitar sound was eliminated on the album in favour of a more sterile sound, which is apparently thought to appeal to a larger audience.

well... i always use the standard tone. E.. maybe sometime i will go lower at D#.... i don't think that going lower than that is needed.... D# i think is the perfect (at least for me:) ESP? ESP or LTD? dang that's too cheap... where are u from? lol in greece LTD guitars never cost lower than 700euro lol and ESP usually going insane:P my ESP m3 Deluxe costs 1600 or even an ESP mII costs about 2k Euro.. lol

I wonder if that is just the guitars straight into the the amps, I know you can tell the bald dude has that "emg" sound but I wonder if there's any effects hooked up because that's a good rhythm sound if its just the guitar straight into the amp.

@linde93 well, it's the same cords, but not the same rythm, so you can't really say they stole it. If that was to be ilegalized, we'd probably only have 10 bands in the world.
@mohokios15 жыл бұрын
well.... playing D# or even D makes the guitar sounds much heavier whole sound changes... but believe me ... when active pickups the sound goes 100% insane..... with passive pickups you can't make so heavy sounds, architecture is completely different and they don't use a preamp...... well just go to a local music instruments store and ask to play with a guitar with these pickups and you will understand what i mean:)

LOL Galder is such a goof. But most talented guy in band by far.
@BathedInTorment12 жыл бұрын
@kajthrashman Their both good brands, just more metal bands use ESP more. But Jackson has good quality in their guitars.
Black metal has more punk-style riffs with a lot of minor chords played for a whole measure, but there is also a lot of melodic stuff and I really enjoy playing that over unnecessary solos and generic power chord riffs. As for the thrash thing, death and black did stem out from thrash but I think there's a huge difference that only people who don't listen to metal wouldn't notice, and should be considered as completely different genres. Also, there's a lot better bands than Behemoth and Borgir.

Honestly the one mistake I think Dimmu made throughout their career was the lack of guitar harmonies and counterpoint riffs...at the end of spellbound on the enthrone darkness album for instance, you hear this amazing guitar harmony which gradually just fades, and I absolutely LOVE it, it's just a pity they didn't have much more like that in their albums =/ Instead they're usually just playing the same riff which kinda defeats the purpose of having two guitars...imho anyway.

I used to prefer thrash and death and actually despised black metal, I thought it was just generic shit and a dumb Satan trend, but then I started to get into it and now I really like it over most thrash or death bands. Emperor's In the Nightside Eclipse, Dissection's Storm of the Light's Bane, Burzum's Hvis lyset tar oss, Darkthrone's Transilvanian Hunger, Lord Belial's Enter the Moonlight Gate, to name a few, it's rare for a thrash or death band to make a masterpiece like those albums.
