7:18 before jumping on anything I research and metamask and polygon is another world if your not into crypto you may find issues along the way but do understand your learning phase that's how I stared in the cypto world and have one similar to this but I don't pay $300 or buy there products to earn I just drive and earn XYO which is listed in many places.

Dj Mines I’ll post on DM as well, I got my car and mine connected using just the DIMO software only version for free, at level 1 the software version state we need to drive 25 miles per week, and we earned 71 DIMO each, we use your code so you should get 50 DIMO as well, and you have to enter the code before attaching DIMO to a vehicle, this earning is just using the DIMO app only no physical device, they just connect to cloud the car is connected to read all the information nothing can be written as they add don’t actually connects to the car just the same cloud account the car app is using.

If you drive less it doesn't mean you provide less data. Or it doesn't make your data less valuable. Some drive 20km a week but wreckless and some drive 2k km and generate different data. Imagine you drive less and very efficient and you tie this data to your insurance to get even better deals. Or you show this data to buyer when you are selling your whicle. Sure makes difference.

its not a small risk just fyi through the obd2 port you can control car or anything electrical, this is how you can unlock anti theft system. Not saying they will just saying its possible not trying to spread FUD just giving the info.

Theoretically you are right. But same is possible for each car providing internet and software connections. Like the most new cars being delivered. As a Dimo user, since now I had no issues neither software connection nor miner which is plugged to obd2. However it's good to be aware of risk. Stealing is not good guys. Leave our cars for us.

@Korkrypt You would have to hack the frequency and the encryption sent out by a key fob tranamitter. By your rationale, any car with remote door locks can be hacked regardless of having a raspberry pi hooked up service port or not. Can a hacked auto pi be an attack vector? Sure, but is the Dimo Corp going to be the source? Probably not....

@@briananderson305 I would like to say that having Dimo miner plugged to a car doesn't make it more stealable. But if a theif wants to steal a car, will sure find its way. I have watched a documentary, guys stealing cars for tiktok videos. Unbelievable. I can I feel pretty safe with my car.

The Dimo is a rasberry pi device called Auto-Pi. It does have a 4glte radio and a Bluetooth radio. All possible attack vectors if the automobile manufacturers haven't done their homework. The hacker, through the autopi, would have to exploit the vehicle firmware protocol to load a version of firmware that allows more control from external sources. The vehicle software is a pretty closed system with mostly downloading available on the vehicle's CANBUS. With some unlocking commands and some other protocols relating to firmware uploads by a proprietary service tool.

Ever heard of a flipper zero or a usb and screwdriver. No one’s going the hard way to steal your car/criminal minds style hack your car. Also the way CAN and anti theft work is rather complex and crafting your own CAN messages is rather involved see the DEFCON talk about it.
