Only half of it, the first four episodes are nothing. After that, episode 5 is all about The mandalorian, and then for the rest of the season, it’s mostly him. But you don’t HAVE to watch it all. (In fact I highly recommend skipping the first four episodes. They’re really bad). You could just watch the first season and stop there. But if you do plan on watching all of the mandalorian, including season three when it comes out, book of boba fett episodes 5-7 are basically the mandalorian season 2.5

For context: I roughly know about the star wars lore but i only watched the movies as a child with not much interest and not in order, so i am not really familiar with the universe of star wars.
