Using flamethrowers against military targets isnt a warcrime. Killing fleeing enemies who havent surrendered or who arent injured is also not a war crime. Idk why ventress is classified as a war crime when they arent present on a battlefield, somehow telling removing citizens from a battlefield to a shelter is deporting them which is also not a warcrime, the training of insurgents is once again not a war crime. Anakin actively participates in 8 of these war crimes including the one the uploader counted back for some reason...idk. Since there are 23 war crimes listed here in total, at 8 Anakin commits about 34.78% of the war crimes shown in this video. And while they're not TECHNICALLY Anakin's war crimes, I thought it'd be fun to add HALF of each of Ahsoka's crimes to Anakin's tally since...he was kinda responsible for her throughout the war. This brings Anakin to 10.5 war crimes or 45.65% of the trouble maker. It doesn't sound like a lot, certainly not as much as 90% (which, in order to get, Anakin would have to have committed 20.7 war crimes.) But when you account for the fact that, according to this video the scores for the ENTIRE war are as follows: Yoda - 1 Ki Adi Mundi - 1 Anakin - 8 Ahsoka - 5 Obi-Wan - 2 Bo Katan - 1 Clones - 2 Pong Krell - 1 Rex - 1 Padme - 2 Palpatine - 1 Anakin DEFINITELY has the most. Obi-Wan and Padme are only about 8% of the problem. The clones probably SHOULD rank higher, but I based them on whether or not they were in charge of the situation when the war crime was committed. Anyway, all of this because your 90% made me wonder what Anakin's ACTUAL percentage of ownership of these crimes were and...apparently it's 34.78% if you don't lump his in with Ahsoka.

Well, no. The goal wasn't really to "corrupt" the Jedi, but to make them compromise their beliefs (okay, yeah corruption, but this is more specific) and remove them from the people, so it'd be easy to say "The Jedi are evil" and everyone would believe it. Also, wouldn't say the republic was corrupted. It's just that war does a great job of creating an Us Vs Them mob mentality that's really dangerous and easy to convince to do anything. You'll notice in U.S. history (if you are or aren't from there) that during wars is when we were the most united. Also when we were the most xenophobic and racist and printing slurs on the front page. As for Anakin, I always thought that was just a nice bonus for Palps. It seemed like he already had his plan in place and later learned Anakin was extremely powerful in the force and having trouble being a Jedi, so he took the chance.

Star Wars is literally a fictional space fantasy universe filled with completely sentient droids and space wizards. An entirely different universe is going to have some different laws, rules, regulations and moralities. Some of our laws will align while many others won't. @XMysticHerox2 жыл бұрын
It´s actualy pretty realistic. Same thing happened with the cruiser rules in WW1. The Allies started arming trade vessels and exploited the rules to destroy German convoy raiders so eventually the rules were just abandoned and trade vessels were destroyed at range with tens of thousands of sailors dying due to it.
@ShepardCZ2 жыл бұрын
@@XMysticHerox Well, of course they armed the trade vessels after Germany declared total submarine war.
@XMysticHerox2 жыл бұрын
@@ShepardCZ You have got it the wrong way around. The Q ships not only came first unrestricted submarine warfare was the direct response to them. Now I am not saying it was ok. It was still very messed up. But that is exactly why you do not mess with the rules of war. When people start ignoring conventions on things like surrender the rules of war quickly become meaningless which is exactly what we saw in WW1.

I never understood why people try to use that argument. Like the Geneva Convention is even the first ever instance of defining illegal acts of war on earth? Of course other advanced societies like the Republic would come up with a list of forbidden war crimes just like they have laws defining regular crimes. And given that our own war crimes are rooted in logic (often because it helps one’s own soldiers being allowed to surrender or receive medical aid, for example), such an advanced society would likely come up with the same laws and even add things on. It’s like saying, “Well, there’s no [Earth country] constitution in Star Wars, so murder isn’t a crime there!”
@quendi55573 жыл бұрын
@@flamingsickle Aye, but we don't know what was designated as a war crime in said set of war crimes. Granted that's stretching it but it is important to think about considering we don't know. So yes, the geneva convention doesn't exist and we have no knowledge of what war crimes count and which ones don't in the Star Wars Universe.

Brain damage? I'm pretty sure a regular, non-enhanced human would have been lobotomized by that technique. Prying into the mind of someone else with the intent to extract information unwillingly? Enough stress on the brain could very well cause it to break.

Star Wars is literally a fictional space fantasy universe filled with completely sentient droids and space wizards. An entirely different universe is going to have some different laws, rules, regulations and moralities. Some of our laws will align while many others won't. We have to remember that instead of shoving our real world politics and laws into these fictional events all the dang time. Not everything is exactly the same over there. What's considered a crime to us, may not be in the Star Wars universe.
