I'm still just halfway through the video but I just have to comment right now. That third tribe, he one right after the xylophone performance, put a big lump in my throat at the part where they depicted the local tribe being introduced to Christianity, which is the origin of the creation of this festival and how it changed the majority of the Filipino people since that happened in 1521. And that just made me realize that next year will be the 500th anniversary of when the Spaniards came to the Philippines and changed us as a people.

This is a very late comment (haha) but I remember when Tribu Salognon from Jaro High School ( the first performance) first entered Dinagyang , they barely had any props, they had like less than 60 dancers and very few drummers/musicians like you can tell they were hardly sponsored. They were like in the bottom three but 2-3 yrs later they greatly improved, in choreo, costumes, props, more dancers, more support and more sponsors . Look at them now 😭
