Hello, Im 62, and I woke up, with no one beside me in bed this morning. I too, heard this song as I made myself breakfast. It has a new meaning as I continue singing this as well, this morning. I being married, my husband was supposed to be taking his adult nephew back to their home town last night see the nephews mother, my sister in law. It was time they would spend together as men. So my husband told me. However, he pocket dialed me last night and I heard an entire conversation between him and a woman he called his baby. They laughed when he mentioned how she thought he wasnt coming to get her. Ive suspected for a while. Thank you, Lord for revealing the truth. Yes, what difference a day makes. And the difference is me Now, I can be set in motion freedom! Peace to you for not being in my shoes this morning! I wish you well..🙏🏽

DINAH WASHINGTON was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on August 29, 1924. She was an American singer and pianist, who has been cited as "the most popular black female recording artist of the 1950s songs". Primarily a jazz vocalist, she performed and recorded in a wide variety of styles including blues, R&B, and traditional pop music, and gave herself the title of "Queen of the Blues". She was a 1986 inductee of the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993. She died at the age of 39 in 1963 from a lethal combination of secobarbital and amobarbital, prescriptions for her insomnia and diet. "What a Difference it Makes" is a song by Mexican composer María Grever (1885-1951) with English lyrics by Stanley Adams.

She could take any melody in her hand, hold it like an egg, crack it open, fry it, let it sizzle, reconstruct it, put the egg back in the box and back in the refrigerator, and you would’ve still understood every single syllable of every single word she sang. What a difference a day makes Twenty-four little hours Brought the sun and the flowers Where there used to be rain My yesterday was blue, dear Today I'm a part of you, dear My lonely nights are through, dear Since you said you were mine What a difference a day makes There's a rainbow before me Skies above can't be stormy Since that moment of bliss, that thrilling kiss It's heaven when you find romance on your menu What a difference a day made And the difference is you What a difference a day makes There's a rainbow before me Skies above can't be stormy Since that moment of bliss, that thrilling kiss It's heaven when you find romance on your menu What a difference a day made And the difference is you

@DeGrate1896 I disagree. I am hard of hearing, unless I'm looking right at you. Lyrics are important to me, and I am always grateful for subtitles. But you are right. Her enunciation is impeccable.

I'm 66 and and we have so much music we can remember. I had a young mother so I was surrounded with all the music from the 50s and on. I tell people I go back to when 'rock-and-roll' was first invented!!! Dinah Washington was like no other and thank God I can now go on to Spotify and listen to her collection whenever I want.

I will always remember this song with a tear in my eye. My mother loved this song and taught me how to two-step to it. I can still remember her telling me how to hold a dance partner and move to the rhythm. Later, the very title became sage advice, telling me to see how things come out rather than to be impulsive. "What a difference a day makes," she'd tell me. Maybe one day I'll get to two-step with her again, and Miss Dinah will be singing.

It would be wonderful if today's singers could follow Dinah's style- the way she articulated each lyric beautifully, along with her rich and mellow tone making each song she sang a masterpiece.❤ And the arrangements of her songs (not sure who it was) added to the overall magnificence of Dinah.

I remember hearing this as small child in the 60's. My mom would listen to this type of music and pass it on to me. growing up listening to Big Band, crooners, and music from the 50's and on. I'm 63 years young. I'm like my grandpa. he love all kind of music. he also dislike some, but he was open. I'm the same way. but today's music I can't seem to listen to them. I tried it's hard on the ears.
