Final projects from my Concept Art School Year ( Term 3 )

I love these videos so much! I myself would like to apply to FZD, so I have a couple of questions, If I may :) 1) Can you tell us about the proces of applying to the school, how did you find out about it, how did you decide you wanted to go there, how did you prepare for it? 2) Obviously, price is a very big issue for some people with this school, so how did you manage that? Did you work to earn money or take a loan or something? 3) What was it like to live so far away from your home in Norway? Did you get used to it or did you struggle with it? Thanks :D I have admired your art for quite some time now, keep up with the awesome work!

They push you till you break. One guy had to get surgery from the damage to his back from bad posture from drawing with only 3 hours of sleep a night. When you apply for a concept art job, those are the people also applying, it's brutal =/

@@sociallyresponsiblexenomor7608 i know this reply is from 1 year ago but as an ex student in fzd and currently in 3d sense . That's just a result of poor time managments . And yes , u can draw 9-10 hours or whatever a day but what matters is what you do during those time . No pros force themselves to draw until they have to go to the hospital like that , aka tbchoi etc

I'm in love with these projects aaaaa they look so fun to make. I love the assignments about changing seasons, different lighting, rooms, game design. I love them all. Thank god we don't have to live with giant insects tho. Do you think you could talk more about how to structure projects like this? I'd love to learn more about it and yours look so organized

Have you seen/read the Windhaven graphic novel? I found it in the library a few days ago and I forgot that I was reading it. I think I'll go back to finish reading it now that your art has reminded me of it haha!

The insect designs make me think about how I wish my honey bees were cat/dog sized so they weren't scared of me at all and I could keep the queen as a pet and the workers like livestock with a "coop" and harvest honey and wax from them like you would sheep 💜💜💜 bumble bees could be pets for people easy since they are solitary and so easy going to begin with 😍💜😍 Freya is the best omg love her. DANNY!!!!! I would read a comic about those little dudes haha. Would play this 10/10 you should do little postcard prints of these settings!

okay, that is cute and all but if insects were: cat/dog size that would mean that spiders would be DOG SIZE !!! Imagine relaxing in your garden when suddenly your bee pet is attacked by a freaking huge tarantula !!!!! That would be a nightmare!!!!!

Hi Dina, I wonder that FZD allowed to photobashing? or trace some parts of the object like creature design thing with diet/human on it, i mean those not really important things

You could be expelled if they catch you for tracing, they've expelled someone from my term for that, you could look at ref photos but not trace. Photobash only if you're using your own photos, or creative commons. Used to be that the school don't allow students access to wifi, they have ref books and you go to a terminal to use internet for research. But I think later terms like Dina fortunately have that resource.
