Another great studio vlog, I really love it! I like how you learn from the great masters, pixar, studio ghibli ... it's just so fun seeing your own style merging with new lessons into this beautiful array of art! This was actually really really nice to see, I got hired to take over from another illustrator for a children's book series and I've never done anything similar before (usually draw painterly illustrations, only printed my drawing less then 10 times) so I'm super unsure of where I stand, the author can't even show the manuscript or tell me the new main characters name so I don't have a feel for the story at all, since I'm so unsure of anything it's super nice to see how someone else who's experienced goes about their process, to be honest I'm not sure if I should continue to try or quit after all, and this at least helped to educate me on my situation a bit

It will all be digital! I'm even editing the lines a little in post :) The reason is I am not comfortable enough with watercolour to do giant illustrations yet! One day yes, but not this time :D And thank youu

are you inking in ballpoint pen or is that a fine liner? i can't quite tell but i love the line quality you're able to get with it and how fluid you are! the cover came out so cute as well, im an adult and id be incredibly drawn to this if i saw it in a store or as an ebook, and i know if i were still a kid id be all over it.

So wish I could draw like you 😞 I’m in my first year of my illustration degree and I’m just struggling to find inspiration and draw anything. I can’t draw people and I just don’t have a style at all. Any tips would be great ❤️

how do you get the colour to go under the line art after you scan it in?

I edit the original scan to have stronger darker lines and white paper, then just put the scan to mulitiply and the colour shows through on a layer beneath :) I can show it in the next vlog!
