Antônio Carlos Jobim wrote this piece especially for the Brazilian singer Sylvia Telles, whose nickname was Dindi. In December 1966, just a short while after Telles had recorded this piece with the guitarist Rosinha de Valença, she was killed in a road accident in Rio de Janeiro.

I'm in love with Jobim's music and now I'm in love with your covers! That album Jobim did with Frank Sinatra was amazing and absolutely beautiful! I listen to it all the time and love Dindi very much, even though it sounds like they're saying Gingi. You did an excellent job here! I would love to hear you do some Astrud Gilberto songs.
