I bought 2 of these for 2 Bernedoodle puppies. It works on one and not the other. I also want to note that I had return one because when the battery ran out it wouldn’t charge anymore. The other collar I have had no issues with.

I bought the collar and am very happy with it. It works exactly as I hoped it would. No false alarms. I have not nor will ever try the shock mode so I cannot comment on that feature.

Can the prongs be removed? Does vibrate mode work just as effectively without the prongs?

I removed the prongs from the collar because I don't want it to irritate my puppy. I've had this collar for more than 6 months and I have no problems with it. Very good product!

Thanks for the comment Sue, after I reviewed and tested this I haven't used it much on our labradoodle because she had a litter of pups a few months ago and I didn't want to change her routine at all. If I do use it on her I will try and give an update, thanks! :)

Do you have to have the silicone on for protection? Didn’t understand that bit

That is correct, the silicone is there to protect the dogs skin so the metal is not in direct contact with the dog. Thanks for the question Sara! :)

I chose this collar so that I can select vibrate without the beep. Our last collar, beeps first then vibrates causing our dog to bark at the "beep." This collar is charging now. I am so excited to see if our 25# labradoodle will properly react to the vibrate only. I'll comment after we try this collar. :)

I'm having the same issue. It turns on, beeps, lights up. But it doesn't do anything. I thought I was doing something wrong while testing, but you are the 5th person I've seen say the same. Edit: Apparently mine will only work if set at 8.

I cant seem to mine to activate when i try barking at it. What are the covers for? To prevent the shock?

It may be hard to activate when trying to bark yourself... the rubber covers are to make it more comfortable for your dog. Hope this helps!

This has been working fine until recently. Everything works but when the shock is supposed to happen, the red flashing light comes on and it doesn’t shock keeping my dog barking nonstop. Is there a way to start the shock again?

Hmmm... have you tried recharging it and then also cycling through the different modes all the way back to the shock mode again? Maybe that will help? Let us know what you find out and thanks for the question!

are the level numbers how much the shock hurts? we have it at 1 and it’s seems to hurt the dog a lot. He’s a big dog. He then starts crying from the pain and it sets it off again. I turned off the shock mode. Is 1 the lowest shock setting?

This is what the website says... if your dog is crying from the pain then I would not use the shock setting but just the beep and vibration combo setting. From their instructions: For large dogs with loud barking, the sensitivity level should be set between 1-4; for small dogs with soft barking, the sensitivity level should be set between 4-7. In a noisy environment, the sensitivity level should be set between 1-4; in a quiet environment, the sensitivity level should be set between 4-7. In an environment with multiple dogs, the sensitivity level should be appropriately reduced to 4-1, which can greatly reduce the interference of barking from nearby dogs. Level 8 sensitivity is the most easily triggered and is usually used for testing triggers without motion detection. Users are recommended to use sensitivity levels 1-7 in actual use
