Also that look T1 Keria gave Deft as they met seemed to me like he was saying, "I know I promised you a Worlds trophy, and I'm sorry that it had to turn out this way."

For anyone who doesnt follow the MV Here's the context: The video follows Deft's journey through his career. So Deft started back in 2013 along side with Faker who was much better than Deft. In 2014 he got his first big break for success. He made it to the semifinals where he would then fall to his sister team in Samsung White. (As seen in the desert fight.) In the follow year he left his home country of Korea to join EDG who was located in China. He would then fall in quarterfinals with his teammate Meiko (a chinese player) to a European team in Rekkles who was also young in his career. Deft would then sit back and get barraged by random attacks which is a reference to the same thing every year. Then it cuts to the 2020 Run with his two other teammates in Doran and Keria. He would then fall again in Quarterfinals with Doran and Keria both leaving teams (Deft also left the team for a year). Deft later returned to DRX (the 2020 team) for his final year (Cause he said at the time, he was going to do his mandatory military service in which a graduate male Korean student is forced to do. Deft did graduate on the side while playing the game competitively.). His 2022 run was his last dance on a team that struggled domestically. But barely qualifying for the Worlds as the worse team from Korea. Deft and his team had to go through so many champions of regions (Europe Champions, Korea's Champions, Winners Tournament aka MSI Champions, Vietnam Champions, Defending World Cup Champions, the perfect season champions.) Then Deft and his 4 other teammates had to go through the defending Worlds Champions in the first round who is none other than his old team EDG with Meiko. Then had to go through Korea's Champions who had 2 of Deft old Teammates in Doran and Chovy (Chovy was also on DRX in 2020). And finally his ex teammate he had to take down is Keria. But Keria was with the same guy at the start of the video. The same guy Deft went to school with, Faker. 10 years after both walking difference paths with Faker always being better than Deft. And Deft making the miracle run for the ages. Deft then complete his last dance as he took down the same kid who was better than him 10 years ago.

i only started watching worlds last year but dang! deft’s journey to worlds is such a tearjerker, especially with keria. i love newjeans but it’s sad that we can’t get some haunting high notes in there, which i feel like would’ve took a god-tier song to a whole nother level.

Damn, Deft is an anime protagonist indeed. Absolutely love the story here. As for the song itself, for me personally the experience was similar to the "Worlds collide": I haven't really "felt" it initially, but the song is so catchy I can't stop listening to it, and the more I listen, the better it becomes xD

Heyyy Dinka! i really like NewJeans since a lot of their songs have a different sound/vibe than typical bubblegum kpop. I think they did the job of making a hype song & hype MV. Is it the best hype song for worlds? No, but that doesn't mean it's not awesome and I wish anti-kpop men in the comments would be more fair about it. You know what surprised me going into this? For a feature from NewJeans, I've expected just a Kpop Welp, I almost got it. A well made Pop song that sound like the World Anthem itself than I anticipated considering last year worlds anthem (Lil Nas X song is good, it just didn't FEEL like its own "Worlds Anthem" imo) Also... I don't understand what's the fuss it all about from this music video. I get the hate but, it's for pros. And at least the writer & animations team still acknowledge the existing of both between the champions from Runeterra and real players from earth playing League of Legends Also, this music video is so AMAZING. It goes hard with the song that I felt engaged with the emotion of these players, like omg. It's so good

I can't put my hand on why Star Walking didn't work as well for me. Lil Nas X did such a good job, and his music slaps, and on top of that I LOVE the metal cover???? No idea where the disconnect is for me. I do appreciate it still, it's just not my favorite Worlds song. All that to say I'm LOVING Gods! League makes such amazing music
