Ok I've given this a lot of thought, just bear with me for a second. Ahri's song has a double meaning. It shows 2 separate things. The song itself is about rising to any obstacle in front of you, never letting anything stop you or slow you down. The video shows a completely different story. It shows the inner struggles that you almost never see on the outside. The anxiety, the depression, the pain, the loss of ones self for the sake of fame and recognition. Not many songs or even whole genres can send such a powerful message so well, in my opinion. The ending, where Ahri stands in the middle of that flower as it opens is symbolic of breaking out into her own. Realizing that she can be herself and STILL be successful. That she is a QUEEN. Those are my thoughts.

Maybe it's just bc i dont play the games but I don't understand. The instrumental is bright, but not nearly bubblegum pop, more 90s western pop. Ahri WANTED the lyrics to be happy and upbeat, but as she said, they didn't turn out that way. They turned out to be about Ahri being determined to prove herself and break out of the box she felt trapped in. That exactly follows the lore that was set up. I don't get what's disappointing about it.
