I've had some requests for dad's taco soup recipe, so here it is: 1lb ground beef (browned), 1qt chicken broth, 2 each of: great northern beans, navy beans, rotel, hominy, shoepoeg corn, ranch packet, taco seasoning packet. This makes a big pot of soup!

@@lindsaymccartney4367 When I make it, I do drain the grease from the meat before adding it in. Also, taco soup freezes REALLY well! It’s really yummy with tortilla chips or corn chips for dipping. We usually have toppings, such as shredded cheese, soup cream, chopped onion, and avocados on the side as toppings. 😋

The most inspiring part of this fun video is that you shopped for the ingredients and did all the cooking in one day. I have an Aldi quarter keeper on my key chain- and I actually live about an hour from the nearest Aldi. But I just ONCE forgot, and never again! Last time I went to Aldi my husband dropped me off, and left with my bags. As he left the parking lot I tried to get his attention. A sweet man thought I forgot a quarter and offered me one, and I said, "nope, different Aldi problem- I forgot my bags in the car!" 😆 I like how Aldi shoppers are connected by these quirks!

My last party got called a Dip Party. Meatballs two ways: Swedish and BBQ, Chili bar with fixings and a carb (potatoes, macaroni, cornbread, rice, tortilla chips), charcuterie-breads, meat, cheeses and crackers, spinach dip, cheese dip, dill dip and veggies, tuna and chicken dips, etc. It was a lot of food on a fair budget. Fruit and marshmallow dip with some candies and cookies for dessert. One small cake (it was a birthday party.)

We had a baked potato bar at a few events and it was such a hit!!! Alllllll the toppings you can imagine! And it's so budget friendly! We have even done it potluck style via sign-up genius so no repeats... and I usually bring cauliflower mash also for anyone who can't have potatoes like me! And everyone is always so happy!

Thank you for this video! These are all such great ideas for guests. I will have to try that broccoli cheese soup for sure. I wanted to give you a tip that has made me fall in love with the block of Parmesan from Aldi. Just break it into 4 or 5 pieces with your hands and throw those pieces in a food processor. It grates it easily (rind and all) in seconds. And it tastes so good!

I had not seen an increase on much at my aldi until this week. Those cheese blocks have been $1.69 for a very long time. Yesterday they were $1.85 😩 sour cream went up from $1.09 to $1.55! I’m going to have to go back and check Walmart again because I think they have the better prices on a lot of things now.

I have an Aldi quarter, years ago I bought an Aldi quarter holder off of Etsy. It stays on my keychain so I always have one! I went this afternoon to pick up a few things and found those same Toffee pretzels, so excited to give them to our daughter in-law, she loves all things chocolate covered pretzels. Those chocolate covered caramels are absolutely amazing! I have a stock pile of them, lol. They are my favorite sweet treat and one is only three points on the green plan! :) Great haul for under $100 and everything looks great! Thanks for sharing. :)

I saw you make your balsamic vinegar dressing in a video several months ago (early summer?). I used it several times throughout the summer and I have to tell you - it is now my go to dressing! Seriously - salads, pasta, as a marinade, everything! I sub out avocado oil (just what I have) and I sometimes add some honey, depending on my mood - but seriously the best and easiest dressing ever. Thank you! I have been the hit at several parties this summer and it is always *so* fun to say “oh the dressing? it’s homemade balsamic.” 😝😝

Before I moved, I had an Aldi quarter. Now I don't shop there as much so the quarter is gone, but the bags are still in the glove box. OMG! Our 85% at Kroger is $7 a lb. for ground beef. So crazy how prices are so different across the country. I have a rind of Parm in my freezer. I didn't know how to use it. Thank you! Make Texas Sheet Cake.
