I had a Norwegian Forest Cat, cat of the Vikings, the most violent small cat breed. She always eats first and I get what's left. Unless it was those magnum ice creams, then I could take a bite first to remove the chocolate coating so she could get at the cream underneath.

All these people talking about throwing or hitting their cats when they misbehave makes me so upset and angry. My cat also has a fascination with human food. I correct her by putting her down on the floor and firmly telling her no. It may take a couple tries but she gets it and leaves after a while. There's no reason to hurt an animal. Some people should not be pet owners. I'm glad Minnie is in a loving home.

I let my cat do anything he wants. Granted, he’s not a “foodie” (except for fresh tuna), so he’s not interested in my food. I give him any food he wants - as long as it’s OK for cats. If my kitty was interested in my food, and the food was OK for cats, he would have that on his menu. I’m glad you let Minnie on the table though! Good for you! My “cat rules” are few and simple: he can do anything he wants as long as it’s safe for him and me. For example: he knows he shouldn’t bite and scratch me - and he doesn’t (any more). He was an eight year old stray when I adopted him, and it took him a while to learn not to bite and scratch me.
