@veldtform4 жыл бұрын
RE Engine Dino Crisis is coming. The fans have been asking, and Capcom's modus operandi as of recent years seems to be: 1) Delivering "quality" titles that meet fan expectations 2) Utilizing 5 core IPs (Mega Man/Resident Evil/Monster Hunter/Devil May Cry/Street Fighter) to further development and revisiting old ones. DMC5 improved the RE Engine for more action-oriented titles (expect RE Engine Onimusha/Dragon's Dogma). There are some assets from RE2+RE3 to use, as well as the monster skeletons in Monster Hunter World able to be used (ex: jagras/girros/anjanath/deviljho) RE's survival horror roots are in again, and Capcom's new bestseller is a game all about giant monsters. It's a safe bet for them, it is definitely coming.
@UndeadThrasher4474 жыл бұрын

@daamazinfatb0y7528 жыл бұрын
Nah man. I think its due to hardware limitations that they had to force themselves to be creative and REALLY focus on atmosphere and shit. Had to make sure everything was atmospheric. Movement, Combat, Sound FX, Music, Lighting etc etc etc....all these things had to be worked on like major in order to make up for the graphics. These days however the hardware does all the effects and shit and all that hardware can make things all movie like with Motion Capture n what not and the atmosphere of games have changed so much compared to back then snd while it added things it also took away things that only the old games had. not saying New games are crap or they don't put much effort into it because they do but something from back then is just gone now. Its hard to put my finger on it but any old school gamer like u n me would understand. PS2 Era was the last Generation to have that. PS3 and onwards are different and its a shame.

Thanks for Playthrough, i only recently started watching the old games from my childhood that i never got to beat. Ive literally waited and wondered for 20 years += to see how they were supposed to be played and beaten. I can now stop wondering about this game and Alone in the Dark One eyed jacks revenge. Time to see what the 2nd Dino Crisis was about. THANK YOU!

Rented this game from Blockbuster. Got home, expected Jurassic Park.... turned off after the into. Too scary, ran upstairs.

one of the things that has aged well from this game is the amazing soundtrack. It makes the game feel like an interactive horror movie.

It's hard to believe such a good looking game existed on the Playstation. It really looks on par with PS2.
@homeboyscottysfivehead21443 жыл бұрын
Its the Dreamcast port.
@DfactorLongplays3 жыл бұрын
That it isn't. Specifically the PS1 version. Funny enough, the DC version doesn't even have better textures.
@homeboyscottysfivehead21443 жыл бұрын
@@DfactorLongplays Weird, I'm playing the Dreamcast port now (480p) and it looks very close. I've got the PS1 version might check it out afterwards. My understanding is that the DC version is basically a port of the PC version which used better textures etc.
@DfactorLongplays3 жыл бұрын
@@homeboyscottysfivehead2144 PC, PS1 and DC all share the same texture quality. It was a misconception spread around internet forums that DC version was superior in terms of textures or frame rate. For the best modern experience I would suggest PC version with Classic REbirth patch installed or the PS1 version running via DuckStation or Bettle HW PSX with enhancements. Either of those will give the best visual fidelity with resolution up to 4K or even above, widescreen included. As of now, Classic REbirth doesn't have depth of field applied when the game is paused, but that's rather a minor thing.

@@DfactorLongplays Obviously you know your stuff. Maybe it's the 480p vs 240p output. Essentially DC will be double the resolution. There's a good side by side here. Text that's near illegible becomes clear as day. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aIOunnyPr8uSo6M Thanks for the tip re: modern version, I'm close the end now so probably done for another 20 years or so!

While games in which you build parks and cather to dinosaurs or tame them in the wild as your pretty little pets have their degree of fun, we want something like this back! We want to kill them, we want to survive against them. We want to be tossed in the fray against the wild with little hope for survival. We need a dino game like Dino Crisis again. Much like zombie games which are mostly killing sprees with no survival involved. I wonder if these kind of features will ever come back...

BOOM, nostalgia. I have literally not seen this game since it came out. Got it, completed it, liked it but never played it again, then just remembered it and came to KZbin and BAM. Awesome :)

This game has such a massive amount of content - weapons with different types of ammo, weapon upgrades, variable scenario paths, few different endings, fmv sequences, cutscenes, clever logic jigsaws. Damn... everything in 1 cd. Definitely they extracted everything they could from ps1

It's amazing how much the graphics in the CGI parts improved in Dino Crisis 2 when comparing it to this. Resident Evil 3 did the same. Both games improved the graphics on the same console, improved the dialogue and added better movements to the controls, while still using the same control scheme. Dino Crisis was a lot more rigid in it's controls than Dino Crisis 2 was. The atmosphere was better in this game though. I never did finish it.

Oakwood took me here. Though I don't see why exactly a dinosaur is categorized under horror. It's more action packed to me.
