I didn't cry for Optimus in the movie (Spock, on the other hand...). But check out the two-parter "The Return of Optimus Prime" - which also includes a piece of The Touch, btw. The storyline basically became "28 Days Later" - a rage virus infects both sides and Prime's hull (corpse?) was the vector, IIRC. But the matrix (or maybe it was the allspark, it's been 20-something years since I saw it) restores him and he uses it to heal both sides. That act of selflessness still gets me verklempt. :) It's exactly why your right about OP.

Amy Young It was returned solely at the request of the children, as no one expected this. This is not uncommon. For the same reason, Gaara was returned to Naruto. And that's the only reason Conan Doyle didn't kill Sherlock Homes. Since he was tired of Homs and he did not want to become a hostage of one book, he decided to kill Homs with the hand of Moriarty. But ... it caused such an uproar - that he had to return Homs. This is very visible. Since the stories about Sherlock Homes after their meeting with Moriarty became much worse. After all, the writer wrote through force.

As a African-American kid growing up and did not listen to rock music, this is the first song to open my ears to a whole new world of music. The 80s has some great rock music, and as a life long Transformers fan since G1 this song still gives me goosebumps especially the verse it’s in the blood is in the will it’s in the mighty hands of steel when you’re standing you’re ground., and you never gave in when your backs to the wall gonna to fight to the end and you’re taking it all !

@kevinsanchez44152 жыл бұрын
@@zackamania6534 The thing is, they're a collective American effort of all races; Link Wray invented the power riff, and jazz/R&B have a history of white and Latin performers contributing, too. The standard drum progressions heard throughout rock also have strong ties to American Indian tribal drum beats, and blues rose out of an amalgamation of cultural white hymnal music and African influences. America is a melting pot of influences creating three distinct music forms that have become adopted universally worldwide: rock, blues, jazz. No one race created the forms, we all did, and it's inaccurate to say race anyways as it's more accurate to call it a mixing of cultural influences (Southeast American, African, Euro, American Indian, First Nations, Mesoamerican, Mexican).

I watched a ton of Transformers and if you really think about Optimus Prime, as a character, he was only ever really 1 thing. The 1 thing that defined him and made people love him. He was a decisive leader who lead by example. That is literally his entire character from the original series summed up and yet that was all it took for him to become one of the most beloved characters of all time. It speaks a lot to how much people can, will and do look up to good leaders.
@danielhaire6677 Жыл бұрын
And you can partially thank Peter Cullen's brother for that. Cullen's brother was a US Marine NCO. Cullen, landing this voice role, talked to his brother about what traits the Marines looked for in an ideal leader. Cullen then used that to create the personification of the character we would all know as Optimus Prime.

@danielhaire6677 Wanted to give special emphasis to the important part his brother, Larry, mentioned. Finding a source was tricky, so I settled for this quote attributed to Peter in some featurette for the Rise of the Beasts movie (emphasis with asterisks my own): “When I voiced Prime for the very first time, I was living with my brother Larry, who was a Marine. I said, "I'm going to an audition. I'm gonna be a truck.' And he started to laugh and he said, 'A truck?!' And I said, 'This is a leader. This is a hero.' And his demeanor just changed. He just went, 'Peter. *If you're going to be a leader, be strong enough to be gentle.*' And I got to the audition and I said, 'My name is Optimus Prime, from the planet Cybertron.' I had no doubt that this is what a hero should sound like, and I was convinced I was gonna get that role."

My first son was just born, and listening to this song i cry. Looking into his little face and knowing that hes already a hero. Im already proud of the man hes going to be, whomever that may be.

When I saw Unicron transform for the first time into robot mode I didn't think there'd be a transformer that large I mean his height almost equaled that of Cybertron itself from pole to pole that was insane and until seasons 3 and 4 when the city transformers like Metroplex and Trypticon and Scorpinok and Fortress Maximus came along I didn't think we would ever see a transformer so large ever again.

He could give Megatron and his guys new bodies, but Unicron couldn't give himself one. Never thought that made any sense......

@@evilmonkeyspeaks7801 If you ask me I'd say the logic was it's easier to reformat a much smaller Cybertronian than one the size of a planet, especially when their body was completely annihilated.

The heroic tale teaches kids how to be heroes in adulthood. As a society, we need to restore that. Just the words of this song are enough to make someone want to be better. Add that to the actual movie and the heroic journey, and you get an incredibly powerful moment in storytelling.
