The fact they are rarely seen, allows them to become almost mythical in the fear they evoke to the herd. Tbh Kron gets a lot of hate but in my opinion most of Kron's decisions were right. He was fighting hard for the heard to survive but can you act as a nice guy as Aladar when environment is so hostile? Only reason that heard even managed to survive until now was because of the Kron's iron hand and will. That's how communities die. Acting nice will not last long. Hard choices are what keeps people alive. Aladar is just an inexperienced punk who never had a blood of people who he is protecting on his hands. Only good thing that he is to the heard is his open mind and creativity. Iron will is needed but without adaptability it is not enough. Movie is actually filled with so many useful massages in real life. It's just amazing. Sad that Disney is no longer this good at story telling.

Idk about that. First off, there's the cliffside that Kron was gonna lead the whole herd to. He climbed up there anyway & saw that drop that Aladar warned him about. If he listened, he wouldnt have died. And this bit makes me wonder, how much of the herd was left behind? How many times have the slow ones been literally fed to wolves, to buy the rest some time to get away? I was gonna mention the Star Trek, "The needs of the many, Outweigh the needs of the few" line, but Aladar was the one considerate for the needs of the many. While Kron focused on the needs of the stong, and was too damn stubborn & prideful. An iron will is one thing, but stubbornness & pride are another. I mean wow, this is what Scar wouldve done, or probably did do, when he ruled the PrideLands.

While Kron's outlook is wrong he is right in a way; he can't endanger the herd as a whole for the sake of the weakest members. This is something I actually do wish was brought up in the movie, that there is a ticking clock to get to the nesting grounds. The herd needs water, it needs food and notably half the herd is probably pregnant and needs to get to the nesting grounds in time to lay. While it'd probably be too dark for a Disney movie, I wish to accentuate the stakes a dinosaur did have to stop to lay her eggs, forcing the herd to leave her behind because she wouldn't leave them. Then before changing scene, you see the raptors closing in from all sides as the mother stands over her clutch.

How can predators survive so long without eating?

Most predatory animals stock up in order to go long fasting periods without food. Water is a far more essential resource, as without water you’ll be dead in no longer than a day, two at best. Wolves are an excellent modern day example of this, as dogs generally speaking are exceedingly good at fasting. This is especially the case with these “old-school” interpretation of dinosaurs. The Carnotaurus were designed after crocodilians, both in appearance and some biological function. Crocs can go weeks without feeding due to their cold-blooded metabolism. Some dinosaurs may have functioned similarly when inactive in spite of their warm-blooded metabolism.

Agreed. You both are right in that regard. I wouldn’t say go as far as to say that Kron treated Neera more like a mate than a sibling, but this scene definitely gives off those vibes to a certain extent. But at the same time Kron was just being protective of her and wanted to keep Aladar in line. He didn’t want to lose Neera due to Aladar potentially slowing the herd and putting the entire group in danger. He clearly cares for his sister, but he did come off as a bit possessive of her when leading her away from Aladar.

Although both characters’ voice actor was awesome (Rest in peace), Kron is the EXACT OPPOSITE of Sebastian. Sebastian was helpful, supportive, jolly, but occasionally scared of certain things: a mediator between Ariel and Triton. Kron, on the other hand, was a cruel, selfish, arrogant, narcissistic, power-drunk control freak who cares only about himself and what he wanted. I’m conflicted about how I felt when Kron was killed by Carnotaurs. To be honest, his vile behavior is what caused him to come to a bad end.

I mean, yes he is, but while kron seems cruel he is actually the closest to real animal behavior of all the speaking dinosaurs in the movie. Most herds will willingly let the sick, old and weakened be taken out by predators; this will both save the healthy members from injury and will help the species (or the herd, in this case) as a whole. I'll admit something. Not only is Disney's Dinosaur too similar to Universal's The Land Before Time in terms of plot and setting, but another reason why many people skip this film is because of how extremely hateful Kron is - he may only be the secondary antagonist, but he makes the movie almost unwatchable (he's more of a menace to the herd than the predators). It's also weird that he's voiced by Sam Wright, who already played a more likeable character 11 years prior to Dinosaur, that being Sabastian from The Little Mermaid.

Cause Carnotaurus is better. They Scared the Sh*t out of me when i was Younger. The T-Rex in Jurassic Park didn't tbh. The Design is much better too. Idk what you are Complaining about. They're Great Villains.

Kron was definitely not a villain, but rather a misguided individual who had too much hubris and arrogance. He believed that because he was way more experienced than Aladar, he should make the calls. He viewed Aladar both as a valuable asset with this survival tactics but also as a liability to the herd’s future and health due to Aladar’s naive and kindhearted nature. Kron only lost the herd’s respect because his hubris and arrogance was also his greatest vulnerability. He would literally rather die than be proven wrong, as evidenced near the end when despite the illogicality of his decision, he still chose to climb the the top on the mountain just to prove Aladar wrong, that he was the better leader. Again, Kron definitely wasn’t a villain but as an almost adult, on re-watch, I definitely understood a lot of Kron’s decisions. The elderly and sick were dead weight and a liability in of themselves. I love this movie because even as an almost adult, you can recognise and realise a lot of things you couldn’t see before.

Or at least in the last year in 2001. And being that "Voyager" knew how to tame down on futuristic earth and progress at the expense of the old by the last season, maybe some crude humor. XD Some Klingons with downright crude humor that makes even the Klingons on "TNG" and "DS9" look tame. And "Voyager" could be R-rated at times. SON!

Well, look at it from the perspective of the herd members. The Carnotaurs are predators who have eaten countless members of their species, many attacks of which they all probably have witnessed themselves at least once in their lives. Wouldn't you see them as monsters for eating a friend or family member in front of your very eyes? Also, the Carnotaurs don't talk, just roar which, to them, is just scary and horrifying noises, but to the Carnotaurs themselves, they're talking in a completely different language.
