Sorry that the video looks a bit janky this time around. For some reason, the editor I usually use kept rendering out the video in lower quality than I wanted. Believe it or not, this was the best looking one out of the many versions I rendered out. Hey made a new discord server! Check it out here: discord.gg/T2Y9dJfTdT

All in all Diego this sounds like a very intriguing game like it’s literally monster hunter+dinosaurs and it also being based on Conan Doyle’s lost world which is denfinently a favorite read of mine hope somebody would do a remake or another game with this concept in mind because it sounds like a fun game

Monster hunter has been my favorite franchise ever since it came out originally, and I gotta say, if Dinosaur Hunting was supposed to copy monster hunter, they missed their mark massively, as there are few similarities. I will say that that isn’t a bad thing, as the game seems like it would be fun. Oddly enough, it seems ahead of the curve of monster hunter in that the whole tracking and learning thing didn’t really come about in monster hunter until World a few years ago. Absolutely wild in my opinion, and truly tragic that we haven’t gotten something like this to this day.

I remember seeing this game on display at a small game store when I was a kid, I specifically remember my dad pointing at the box and saying "Look you get to hunt dinosaurs in this one.", but I wasn't very interested at the time. I've been looking for it on and off ever since than and I'm glad I found it in this video.

Now I’m thinking of a game, wherein a group of explorers from the early 1900s getting lost in the deep Amazon, as they’re picked off and hunted down by Dinosaurs and tribals, now that’s a great horror survival game in waiting.

Okay, but the very core of Monster Hunter is less about the size and reptilian nature of the monsters, it's a boss rush gear grinding game. What defines the genre is the gameplay loop of facing bosses almost-exclusively as opposed to big lengthy encounters being used sparingly to mark plot progression like they are in most games, and the fact that each of those encounters gives you materials to create and upgrade your armor and weapon arsenal so you can take on bigger, badder bosses. As far as we know the thought process behind the very beginning of Monster Hunter development was "how can we use the online capabilities of the PS2? => well we can have about 4 people at once in an action game and have it perform decently => the most exciting way we can think of for four people to cooperate in an online game is to team up to take down a boss => but what about the rest of the game? => let's not have a rest of the game and just do the bosses" and from there it evolved into considerations for how such a game would be balanced and kept interesting all the way through if it lacked the connective tissue of slower paced levels. Based on that, the two games seem extremely different, and Dinosaur Hunting feels more akin to the man vs dinosaur first person shooters of the 90s. source: I'm a massive Monster Hunter fan lol. That's to say I know I read this stuff in reliable sources at some point but I don't remember the specifics anymore and cbf to google for old interviews rn :P Hope that's fine.

I'm a little late to this but I swear I've seen a physical copy of this game before. Or at the very least, something with a similar premise - running around hunting dinosaurs with tranquilisers, as I recall the text on the box even acknowledged that "you don't have to feel bad for the dinosaurs" because "you're pumping them full of tranquilisers instead of lead" (something along those lines). This was like ten odd years ago (if not more), at Incredible Connection (a tech/hardware chain here in South Africa)l I'm not sure if it was a console game or not, but I don't recall Incredibles ever selling console games, so it was likely a PC game.

When it comes to finding game a game company, you just gotta find the one that matches the logo in the game, it shows it if you don't push any buttons and you would've seen the Scarab devs which was absorbed into Cavia and which became Feelplus, which was the one you found first, was correct. Games missing from a wiki list does not mean it's the wrong company, just that the list is incomplete. Scarab was run by the owner's wife after he died in 1998. Yes, this Scarab is the same company that made Lost Odyssey and Infinite Undiscovery. If you look further, you'll see that the composer is the same guy who did the Naruto soundtrack and this game is one of his first soundtracks. He was later used again by Cavia to compose the soundtrack for Beat Down: Fists of Vengeance.

I wouldn't agree with the notion of dinosaur hunting being a monster hunter clone as it lacks the crafting, armor and weapon forging, and trapping MH has. Aside from the fact you'e hunting big scaly monsters the games are very different and I even think they were meant to be rival games for two different systems.
