Having just attended a festival over the weekend- it seems to make sense to me. This probably wasn't the bad they came to see (its daytime, which tells me they aren't the headliner), they probably don't know the song, its probably hot outside, and they are tired of standing around. The majority of them probably weren't alive when Dinosaur Jr last had significant radio play.
