the purple/green lighting on this is gorgeous. idk if the black point dialed down makes them pop somehow or something but it's really beautiful . came for dino jr but the visual... wow

Personally, I've always felt that the stark contrast between the emotionally distant and introverted vocals, lyrics that ooze with helplessness and insecurities, and the overwhelming and expressive instrumentals is what I like about Dinosaur Jr... I mean songs like No Bones, and Turnip Farm, would be no where near as powerful if J's voice wasn't so small and insignificant in the song, and their low standing in the mix is just part of that...

All the negative comments need to stop. Please don't watch if you will be disappointed. I don't care if you've "Seen them live a bunch of times," or if you "Have all the records," STOP. PLEASE. ... addendum. Yes, I personally would say that No Bones is even the song that defines them (or at least J). I don't think they ever got that deep and powerful again.

What don't we get? I have been a fan since I was a teenager, I have all of their albums and love them. Live it was just sloppy. J is an amazing musician, he just seems not to give a shit live. I actually met him and Murph before the show. Murph talked with us for 15 minutes and had a smoke with us. J wouldn't even shake hands or say hi.

I think it is fair to say that J does seem to get a bit bored, but then that's the challenge today. No money to be made from album sales, only live performances, and being on the road so much must take its toll. Maybe that's why Murph never went to Glastonbury,

Everyone should have constructive criticism, But if you know the band "that well" then I'm not quite sure what your expecting? This is what they do, J is who is & it's the bands mantra. If they did it any other way I doubt it would work. Yep J is not great with fans all the time but not sure why he has to be? (pretentious alert maybe) but sometimes I feel the lack of emotion perceived he puts in is fitting with the songs? Imagine him doing a Van Halen to the solos.The mix is great for dino....!

I Bet on Sky was in my top 2 albums of last year along with Helvetia's nothing in Rambling. The difference being Helvetia is amazing live Dinosaur Jr was just bad.

That doesn't make it ok if he has always done it. Playing badly is still playing badly. And keeping sound guys on who can't bring the vocals and drums to an audible level is just inexcusable (that may have had something to do with the 5 Marshall full stacks on stage). The reason it was a little upsetting he didn't even acknowledge us is that he was that we weren't demanding anything, just trying to tell him how awesome the new album is. He didn't even speak 1 word to the crowd either.

he played liked this in amsterdam a little over a week ago... is it always like this?? it's the most pathetic, passionless live performance i've ever seen. he just sings as if he's whispering some bland text

This totally validates how upset I was after seeing them live. Sloppy and disaffected. At least the mixing is better. You couldn't hear des or vocals live.
