I mean, to be fair, a lot of what we knew about certain dinosaurs like the T-Rex turned to be drastically different than the truth, the T-Rex was basically a giant proto-bird with a serrated beak. If we ever dig up a train that can be carbon dated to a time long before trains were even conceivable then yeah, that was one implausible train.

1: It's implied that the T.Rex fell into the Pteranodon nest by accident and they just went "What ant odd looking Pteranodon" and raised him as such. 2: The dinos have human intelligence heck maybe more as they time travel in the show on occasion. 3: The Pteranodon family represents a regular old family so the dad has a job (that's why you see him less) while the mom raises the kids and such (I am not sexist just this is what I can make out from watching the show and my own family) 4: The train is run by Troodons who are incredibly intelligent (for dinosaur standards) they also have about human sized arms so they can definitely reach for the controls in the shown train, and the train is made for dinosaurs to run it. 5: That is all
