Got this one on Monday, and while I'd stop short of calling it the 'best' articulated dino ever, it is certainly the best Hammond Collection one and I love it! (Now that they got the feet fixed, they got to figure out the glass eyes...)

Such a great upgrade over the 2018 one which I still really love. So glad they heard the fan demands finally adding this new size class to the HC, and also doing a wonderful job with the paint apps and proportions on this one. Can't wait to get it, and really looking forward to have this guy side by side the upcoming Cyberzoic one. Can this guy do the JWE2 sitting pose? I really want mine in that pose lol. Definitely one of Mattel's best, along with the recent HC Brachiosaurus, and some others too. It displays really nicely with the HC Ankylosaurus as well, with the mix of dark, and red they both have (which is another really great figure in the line, just wish it the purple of the film design on the limbs). Really hope we get a Demon repaint/retool. I'd also like a Dominion Parasaruolophus repaint/retool as well.

Just tried the sitting pose : so close yet soo far, the knee doesn't bend back enough (meaty thighs) and the feet don't extend as far forward as they would need to But you can kinda get it to by extending the legs all the way forward and having it have its toe claws facing up instead of planted

Great review. Definitely my favourite out of my dinosaur figure collection. Don't really get all the criticism of the glass eyes tho. It looks way beter than those printed eyes (let alone those mismatched ones they used to have) and they've improved them after the cloudy eyes on the first rex. I get it might be challenging for photo/video projects if you want to light them up, but eyes of today's animals who look orange in daylight look brownish when light doesn't reflect in them. Since these figures have tiny eyes they look even darker because there's less surface to reflect the light. I think the only way to make them look lighter permanently would be for them to have light-up eyes (makes them more expensive and would probably need batteries, which would mean balancing issues cause of weight) or give them ridiculously large eyes. I prefer this over any of those options.

Amen! Don't have a problem with my T-Rex, and I'm guessing it's one of the later releases considering it doesn't have cloudy eyes. Of course it's not perfect, but like what was mentioned in this review, it sure is hell beats Mattel's shoddy eye paint work. If they could do them like NECAs (more recent) digital dot matrix paint, that'd be perfect.

The claws not being painted actually works this time because abelisaurids have very vestigial and underdeveloped arms, and they probably wouldn't even have defined fingers or claws.

I’m very happy to finally getting this beast of a figure sent to me from Target this Friday. I truly hope that Mattel will also give us a 2nd variation for late 2024 to 2025 figure of a Hammond Collection Male Demon Carnotaurus from Jurassic World Dominion. That one is long overdue and easily the figure I want them to make & release the most.

I love this figure, it looks better than any JP figure that was made before if you ask me. It's a seperation of Hammond Collection eras. The ones before were nice, but this one is great and very realistic looking. No cartoonish features, glass eyes, amazing colours... I would love it if they updated some of their past figures to be more in line with this one. The only thing I don't like is that they are incorporating more rubber into the figures. Rubber cracks over time.

Im probably in the minority here, but I think Baryonyx needs another updated version, I love the one we have but its just the size, Baryonyx was as big as the Carno, and with the new size range being introduced i think Baryonyx should be updated and put into this new size range.

I heard and found out that they rereleased the hammond collection T Rex with better looking kinda darker paint and they fixed the eyes so now they are visible and people can see the eyes now

Awesome review and Dino, but I think the feet look too short and stubby. They would look much better with longer toes and claws. The problem with past Mattel clown feet is they are disproportionately huge, wide, and chunky but If the feet on this were the same size, aspect wise, but with just longer toes and claws to give an elongated but not chunky clown look, the figure would look much cooler.

My one gripe about the JW Carnotaurus design is that they made the arms too long and well developed. Other than that, it's a pretty alright design.

Easily the best JP Carno figure made for the JP series. Belfore this came out I always though Disney Dinosaur Carno figure was the best around and use with JP figures BUT it will be interesting to see it up against the beasts of the mesozoic Carno that's coming in 2025. It depends what you want if u like jurassic world or more scientific like beast of the mesozoic
