This was one of the last "Full Sets" to be make without all the crappy CGI and like Joseph Fiennes said "When you walk in to Red Square, you step in to another world" This is the reason todays actors are so poor.. It's not them but when they don't have the inspiration of actual things infront of them.. Then you can tell that there is no emotion in the acting. Proper sets, with actual props needs to come back and CGI used when you seriously can't make it for real.. To many lazy directors these days.

The ironic thing about the casting is who Joesph Fiennes brother plays in Schindlers List, a psychopathic Nazi war criminal.

Nice movie, i've seen it many times. But its not the way how stalingrad is being won by the russians. The germans had problems with supply and delivering new soldiers to the front. The russians where growing in size and had many divisions after some time. At the end, the campagn took to much time for the germans, time is very important during battles. But it isn't stalingrad that was important, Moscow was. And after that the germans had to capture allot more city's. The war was lost at the moment the germans invading Russia. Its to big, and the german army was to small to capture everything.
