This is by far the best playthrough for this game. Thanks for including the music and no commenting. The one foreign guy was annoying and his English was cringe at times as was his playing -- he sucked. And the other one had no music which was so bland to watch but he was good at playing. You on the other hand have the MUSIC and the SKILLS and the SENSE not to add any commentary -- I just wanna watch this like watching a movie with a soundtrack and dialogue between the characters. I don't need some 3rd party loudmouth yapping away while I'm trying to immerse in the story. Thank you so much. And I love what you did with the voices -- like the reverberated effects. It adds a unique depth to the ambience and soundtrack of the game. 12 out of 5 stars bro!

Thanks mate, I made sure to be the best walkthrough possible for this game, although some people don't like the echoey sound, but that's how it should sound inside a spaceship, not like the flat sound without any reverb, it doesn't sound natural. I tried to record it exactly like a movie, practicing every section to come out the best way it could without most flaws, that's what I like doing and I think it's the common sense.

So many good ideas for a 2000 Star Trek game. I grew up with Elite Force and watching this video I really appreciate the dynamic flashlight, manual communicator with the press of a button, the inventory system, Kira, allies in combat maps, that weird laggy crosshair so you don't just blindly shoot to the middle of the screen... looks interesting!

In case anyone's wondering, the reason he aims down sight (sniper mode) every time with the phaser rifle is because it deals a ton more damage than the regular rifle shot --- a strange mechanic, to be sure, as it plays about as clumsily as it looks! Hmm this is a kinda game ppl should be playing. Then that STO game. Right from the very start. It pulls u in. No tiers,restrictions,no internet connection,no cheapening of the ranks&etc just this. They should create a Star Trek single player game. Where u go through the academy of Star fleet or whatever side the player chooses. No Miranda class/equivalent.Player chooses the vessel ship class based on how the player does at the academy/whatever equivalent. Some people start off as a LT,LtCommander/ensign. They make really good grades they get posted to the flagship. So Ppl don’t have time to go online and play. Single player games are easier. No need to worry about others or a server or something being swamped of users.

Some things are sped up but then it seems to be lagging, too. I've not tried to go in and patch all the issues out. There was also an expansion pack from the community to continue the story after the game's ending. Never did get through that as it was pretty difficult, moreso than the original game.

I grew up playing Klingon Academy and Elite Force, but never heard of this game! The excessive techno babble is a bit much IMO, and the absence of Sisko and O’Brien’s voice actors are distracting, but this game looks fascinating and high end for 2000! Especially since Klingon Academy came out at the same time. I like that all 3 of these higher end games had totally different playing styles. If they’d hired impressionists to do Sisko/O’Brien it would complete this game to me.

It took me a few days on and off, but this was an interesting watch. I never heard of this game before now, although I will admit it was probably because it looks a bit lackluster gameplay wise. I probably would've not been quite as into it back when I first played all the OG Activision Star Trek games by like Armada, Bridge commander and Voyager Elite force. But this game is actually quite accurate to the feel of DS9. On a similar level as how Elite Force felt like Voyager., and with similar levels of technical aptitude on display to min-max the game engines they're running on.
@Palmerrip Жыл бұрын
If only I had this level of competence in Elite Force 1 and 2... the tricorder is definitely much more handy in this game, same as the phaser. Get the modulation and be able to fire through the force fields. Truly Star Trek, sciencing the mess through situations. Also, boy the Cardie Distruptor Rifle... the AK-47 of the 24th Century... Also, kind of sad that there were no stun setting on the weapons. It would be helpful with the unarmed guards.

I played this back in the day, I adore DS9 and I WANTED to love this game but it was very buggy, the plot felt a bit ropey at best, the actual gameplay and visuals were pretty good for its day. The voice acting... now theres the biggest problem...the voice acting from the actual cast members is spot on and really good.... but the trouble there is with some characters voiced by their 'proper' voices the ones that arent, even though theyre not actually doing a bad job are just very very obviously wrong (and the fact that one of them is the main potagonist of the game/show in Sisko just kinda rubs it in. Im not hugeyl surprised as Avery Brooks and Colm Meany are both notiroiously hard to get to do anything trek related (theyve very rarely even put in guest apprearances at conventions and the like let alone do an entire voice role for a video game). All told though it was a good effort just sadly not anywhere near as good a game as Elite Force (which is doubly a shame as DS9 is 10 times the show Voyager ever was imo :P) Sadly DS9 got a bum wrap when it comes to video games (only getting this and Dominion Wars (which was actually not bad when it worked... which was not often (it was one of the buggiest games I ever played!) Sadly Trek as a whole never got the same level of support in video games as Star Wars and whilst there have been plenty of bad Star Wars games too there are plenty of bona fide classics for that franchise like TIE fighter and KOTOR... Trek... well Elite Force was quite good... Birth of the Federation was Great and A Final Unity was brilliant... but I still wouldnt put any of them up with the likes of KOTOR as genuinely great games if you took away the Trek element....
@locutus9956 Жыл бұрын
Thats the real rub of it. the more I think about it.. Forget judging them as 'Star Trek Games' or Star Wars games, but think if they didnt have the franchise licence or you werent a fan of said franchise at all, would they just be a great game on their own right? Sadly the answer for every Star Trek game ever made Id have to say would be 'no'. MAYBE BOTF Id give a pass as its a genuinely great 4x game Trek or not... but is it better than, say Master of Orion 2? or Civilization? Probably not. By contrast TIE fighter is one of the best space combat games ever made even without the Star Wars angle.. and KOTOR may have one of the best RPG plots ever in video games. Damnit why cant someone like BioWare get the Trek licence and just make me essentially Mass Effect set in the Star Trek universe? :P
@locutus9956 Жыл бұрын
For the record there is now I know, Star Trek Resurgence, wich is a really really good story and if you like telltale style interactive story games its a bloody good one but again. It may actally be the best Trek game to date... but again... take away the Trek licence and Im not sure it stands up so well on its own (it IS a good solid sci fi story though but it does have some issues and a fair few technicaly problems (wich Im willing to overlook as a Trekkie starved of good games but.... would I be as generous if it wasnt Trek? Probably not....

After watching the entire video, I can honestly say the game is mediocre at best. Sure, it has some nice features, like an actually usable tricorder (for comparison, tricorder in Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force Virtual Tour is just a gimmick), but overall the game is too repetitive and doesn't offer much beyond the fact you get to play as three of the main characters from the TV show. The game is not bad, but it's not particularly good either. I've never played it myself, but have considered it. Now I see I haven't missed much. I'm not too fond of being restricted to 3rd person view in shooter games either. 🙂
