Where’s her Kennedy Center Honors, way way overdue 😤 A career spanning 60 years and not been recognised yet - a damn shame!!!! Someone needs to spearhead the campaign for Ms Warwick to be given her Honors whilst she is still with us. I mean she should be a top priority and as much as I love Cool J and co. , Ms Warwick should have been awarded ages ago, before the recent recipients.

Records like "I Cry Alone", "There's Always Something There to Remind Me", "You're My World", "You're Gonna Hear From Me", "What's Good About Goodbye", her recording of "Do Right Woman, Do Right Man", "Where Would I Go", as well as recordings from "The Magic of Believing", the LP she did with The Drinkard Singers.. Her singles tended to be more Adult Contemporary, but her albums always contained showcase numbers.

Thru 5 generations all i heard was Dionne, Tammy Wynette, Whitney, Brenda Lee, the Manhattans etc. Our home and family was surrounded by these lengends and i am so thankful that even tho some arent here w/us today, these old vids allows us to recapture the "good ole days" and yes when they were at their primes, but mostly i appreciate their style, voices of course, performance and best yet their music! They have done their time and altho they may not have the same tunes, like before, it dont matter, cuz like every employment....we all retire one day! So appreciate the impact they once made and be gateful for these legends!

I love this lady, she’s been in my hearing senses all my life, fro being a kid listening to my parents playing her records, to me playing her records, buying my own records of her then the cds, people use to laugh at me listening to her, well those people aren’t around but Dionne is and always will as long as I live. Her voice is bliss! Saw her in concert, still great at 81. Still belts them out as good as she did when she first started out. ❤️

Dionnes voice is so unique and full of different qualitites. omg in her younger years her voice was so bright and clear, that version of somewhere was as clear and bright as barbra streisands, and they're two different voice types. But then we also have the dark and really dramatic passages. A chameleon and yet she has a signature sound.

It seems to me that Dionne rarely showed more than half of her full range and power on her recordings. It's so strange to me that she's known as a singer with an exclusively smooth, intimate style but then she comes out live and belts huge soprano notes! Cissy is very different from Dionne. Cissy was was way more heady and operatically shrill where Dionne had a mid chest grounding to her tone. As far as Cece Winans that’s all her mother Mom Winans. She sounds so much like her own mother not Whitney’s.

She always had a beautiful songbird voice to me but Damn does this songbird have claws! I never knew she could blow the roof off with her vocals! Did her voice get damaged or something during one period of her career?

Martin x Age and smoking but she had a nice voice for about 40 years of her life

Starting smoking but her voice naturally aged. She was a very consistent vocally.
