Pure joy!! I loved Dionne’s nuanced phrasing on the opening line of “I Honestly Love You”. So beautifully sung…(“Maybe I hang around heeeeeere…”)

This was fantastic! They were having so much fun weaving through those songs especially on “i go to rio”. Peter is a broadway marvel and showman and of course Dionne can sing just about anything. You killed this Michael !!!

This video is pure gold! I can't believe you have this episode - it's so difficult to find. If possible, please post more clips from this episode or any other clips from when Peter Allen was on Solid Gold. I only have his "I Go to Rio" clip from a 1981 Solid Gold episode. There's one on KZbin of him singing Bi-Coastal from 1981, but the quality isn't very good. Thanks so much for posting this gem!

So glad that this clip was such a nice and welcome surprise for you! Unfortunately, this performance was the only performance Peter did in that episode. I remember the taping as if it was yesterday. Me and my Solid Gold Band spent the day prior in the recording studio recording the track, and then Peter and Dionne sang live to the track in front of the studio audience. It was all quite wonderful. And, regarding your question about other episodes, I don’t have any that include him. Anyway, I am at least glad you enjoyed this one!

@@TheMusicMagicofPeterAllen You’re very welcome and, actually, I was the Musical Director for Solid Gold (I’m Michael Miller), and I wrote the Solid Gold Theme Song. So, I definitely have a lot of stories to tell! So many stories, in fact, that the book might have to be a 10-part series!
