Not one singer today could do this. Dionne is way too slept on. She is a vocal beast. I love her Bacharach collaborations, but it was the 70’s when she switched to r&b & showed the world she was every bit the talent Aretha was. When Dionne would do her signature belt while putting the mic under her arm or down to her waist? I have never seen another singer that could do that. This is stunning. Dionne doesn't employ arrogant, off-putting vocal acrobatics the way most contemporary singers belch out today. Bacharach could give her even the most complex songs like this and she'd just deliver them to perfection, thus putting the writer's song in the best light. But the other key thing Dionne shares with my other most favorite singer, Karen Carpenter - she conveys warmth.

Yes but it wasn't seamless. There were a couple of places where singer and band were not together. She also had issues with a medley she sang on this same appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show.
