Really awesome teamwork in this deep dive video with the Diono! I have a 6yo and we're getting a Model Y soon. I was wondering how the Diono is working out so far for your kiddo and if you guys have given the booster option a try?? I like the 5pt harness but was wondering how well it works as a booster. Is it easy to use? Will the kid be able to reach and buckle up themselves? Does it guide the seat belt properly on shoulder and lap to safely secure kid? Etc etc etc
@TeslaFamilyChannel2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the great feedback. No we haven't moved to the booster yet with our 6yo but the seat continues to be a great addition to the Tesla! My daughter is comfortable and I have peace of mind knowing she's secure in the seat and inside my Tesla 😃

My child is still rear facing and I love these seats, but am concerned how far back it’ll go in our model 3. Any way you could show it rear facing in the center seat?
@TeslaFamilyChannel2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! The seat back is not adjustable so in the rear facing position, I am seeing from other sources that this car seat will require your front seats to be positioned quite a bit forward. Diono sells a seat wedge that helps negate this which you can find here: amzn.to/3u2PsFr
@arlemrocha68762 жыл бұрын
Looks good the only thing is that if you are foward facing over 25 pounds don't you have to lower the adjustable bottom it's on page 42 of the manual or did we not understand that correctly.

I need to see where did you find the super latch inside the seat, as i have the same but have no latch... or dont know where did they put it... nither see any hooks on the head rest laterals to fix the vehicle's shoulder belt... please help to understand how to convert this seat to the booster without these staff...

Thanks for watching! We actually went with another Diono seat for a booster. Video coming soon.

Where is the cup holder? I can not find it in the box
@TeslaFamilyChannel2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! The cupholder should be in the plastic accessories bag like I showed in the video. Perhaps it's missing, try calling Diono and see if they will mail you one.

What did you do with the carry strap? Tuck it in somewhere? Remove it? Thanks for the demo!
@TeslaFamilyChannel2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! Can't recall getting a carry strap in the box. If I did, then I left it in the box as I have not needed to transport the car seat. Saw it as an accessory on the Diono site.
@mattking3332 жыл бұрын
@@TeslaFamilyChannel Hey thanks for the reply. By carry strap i meant the red strap to hold it when folded together. (Sorry, its not a carry strap. My mistake)
@TeslaFamilyChannel2 жыл бұрын
@@mattking333 Ah yes, the red strap. I tucked in behind the backing pad of the seat so its hidden until you need to use it.

can a person fit comfortably in the middle seat?
@TeslaFamilyChannel3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching, Carlo! Great question. I would say no unless that person in the middle is smaller framed or only a short trip. There isn't really any arm room for the middle passenger on the side of the car seat.

Absolutely not

Why did you install with latch instead of seat belt
@TeslaFamilyChannel Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! I think latch is easier to remove. Just a quick yank of the red loop.

Does the car seat leave a mark on the head rest?
@TeslaFamilyChannel3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching, the top/anchor strap does squish some of the material on the side of headrest but that works itself out after a day or so once the seat is taken out.
@sampolo19813 жыл бұрын
@@TeslaFamilyChannel Honestly it is a deep squish and now it is making a noise rubbing against the fabric. I am really concerned. Does the tesla headrest move up to avoid it?
@TeslaFamilyChannel3 жыл бұрын
@@sampolo1981 No the Model 3/Y rear headrests do not raise up to run the anchor strap through.

I can’t install this car seat tight enough
@TeslaFamilyChannel3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! Try sinking your knee I to the seat the. Pulling the latch strap while you have weight on the seat. Sometimes it's a struggle for me too which is why ai don't like to take the seat out and put it back in. You can also run the strap through the back of the seat to pull from left to right to tighten. Wish there was an automated tensioning strap!
@bruf773 жыл бұрын
Just sit in the car seat then pull up on the strap.

Constructive criticism : no need to show purchase price, you could simply say you can find such and such in the link in description box. I literally wanted to rip my hair out watching your video. Nothing personal. Just with a teaching video get more to the point, way too wordy. I wanted to learn from your video and feel more frustrated. My career is in occupational therapy and instructions is a huge part of my job. This is only my opinion and hope this helps. But from a professional and viewer and by my comment, I’m certain you can see my frustration after viewing this.
