i try to charge to only 75-80% and discharge to no less than 30% on most cases. now it's over 1000 full charge cycles and over 4 years, and the health is at 79%. pretty good. i'd say exceeded the expected health by a lot.
@Valdismith
@Valdismith Жыл бұрын
Yes 20 to 80 is great, you can do 10 or 15 to 85, but around 20 to 80% not always every time and 1ce in 7 charges move the electrons all the way to 100 to flow that top 20% juice. Wi-Fi charging heats more and is slower, fast cable cahrgin doesn't harm the battery at all, as this guy didn't give temperature examples and how long the battery stay at given temperature with slow and fast. On Android I have measured Wats, how the controller manages good temperature limited to 39-40C max and the higher the percentage the colder it gets, but you get to 80 in minutes, so you are not harming more then slow, maybe the same but charging 4-5 times faster and maybe even more healthy.

I use the same 20W charging brick for my Apple Watch, iPhone and iPad. I use the Watch for sleep tracking, so charge it during my “morning routine”. I also try and stagger charging the other 2, so they don’t die simultaneously. I suppose you have to weigh up what you prefer - battery longevity or faster charging.

Same here charge the apple watch SE 2 in the am while catching up on work emails. Then a little bit during my post evening workout shower and I have never come close to running out of battery. It is the cell version and I have to say it worked great on my afternoon walk yesterday sans iPhone and with my bluetooth headphones connected. I charge the iPhone to about 85-90% in the am and then don't usually worry about it during the day if I am out and about.

The bigger battery of the promax(and plus) also helped change the way I charge. Cause with the 14promax I no longer see the need to charge at night to wakeup with 100% battery. I can just plug it in my 20w charger when I wake up, prepare for the day, and by the time I leave the house, whether it topped up at 70,80 or 90%, i am confident that it will last me through the day. And when I get to bed, battery hovers around 20-40%, and I just repeat the cycle. Cant say the same with my iphone 12 back then cause that really needed to be 100% at the start of the day to last me the whole day.

The 80% rule is more if you leave your phone unused, as its not healthy for a battery to stay at high or low percentages for a long time. However if you naturally go through the battery through the day and don't leave it full for many hours, then there's no harm in a 100% charge.

I’m new to iPhone and have been an Android user since smart phones came out (I’m not a hater, lol. Getting used to Apple and have been pleasantly surprised with the 16 Pro Max). Great phone so far and is getting better as I figure out the foreign OS. I appreciate this video because I don’t want to fry my new phone by connecting it directly to a source that could power a Cybertruck in 20 mins or less, lol. Thank you for posting this!! One caveat to this video, and if this was a sponsor, I get the hustle, but there is no such thing as “vegan leather”. I mean, call it what you may, but it is “pleather”, plain and simple. This new term is misleading and totally untrue as if there WAS such a thing, it couldn’t be called leather as leather comes from animal hides. It’s either a vegan phone case or pleather, and why they would even combine the two word is an insult to vegans or trickery to people like me that enjoy real leather. Marketing garbage to make more money out of a les-than-par product. Just tell it as it is, plastic that is made to (loosely) resemble leather that is sold at the cost of leather for dollars on the penny. Why would a vegan (if they really hate the animal thing) want a product that resembles animal hide, and why would someone that likes leather want plastic that resembles the same?? This product technically shouldn’t attract anyone unless the price was below the expectations of vegans or leather lovers…. Bet it isn’t! Anyways, not a poke at you. Great video otherwise. I just cannot stand marketing ploys, especially when they make absolutely no sense, cost more than the alternatives and if you really think about it, have no audience outside of shady wordsmithing… Cheers!

Factual is showing how much degrees the batt. controller allows the battery to reach and does it get even colder getting in the higher percentage like my 67W android. If the slow charge is keeping 32C for 2h+, and my Android is pulling 50, themn 40, then 30Watts meanwhile keeping the temp limited at 39C and when I get to higher as 70% it starts getting cooler, if I push it to 90 and 100 at the lat 5 the watts are not 40W, not even 4W (in the top percentage) and then batt. temp is not capped at 39C but 28C. So which one is better? I know my answer dealingwith Android, but for iPhone I would like to see some numbers, I am pretty confident they will manage in the same way, which would mean fast is not going to wear more than slow(need facts though, I have 1200 charges, maybe 500 cycles on one flagship Android with "claimed 67W)- so far it has been doing great for 1,5years.

I’m confused . I only need to buy a brick and then plug in the lightning cable into it to charge via slow charging ? And please put a link for the 5 Watt ….I don’t know what exactly I’m supposed to be typing in to buy the 5W brick .

you are correct, the 5 watt charger (to be used for overnight charging) should do the trick. You just need a proper cable and connect the two. Should not be a probleem

@@DionMedia thanks . Seems though it’s kind of hard to find online the 5 watt bricks . Also , what do you suggest we clean the connectors with ? Is it safe to clean it with alcohol wipes ?

hey man! im thinking you probably won't see this at this point, but i cannot find ANY helpful info on this. my MagSafe charges my phone RIDICULOUSLY too slow. i bought the ESR MagSafe with the kickstand on Amazon. i have a feeling its the box adapter thing that im using with it, which is the 20w (i think?) standard Apple one that used to come with the 11 & 12 phones. any advice? is there something i could be doing wrong?! THANK YOU 🖤🖤

My battery % on 13 pro max dropped from 99 to 88 in just 5 months is it normal? I use it verry actively yeah but also charge it in a smart way from 20-30-80 and if I leave it for the night it happens verry rare.. Also I use original charger IdK how original it is its written on the brick designed by apple in california also on the cable but yeah still not sure about it's originality"

Hi, that is on the high side. You can check your brick on its authenticy at the Apple store or buy from them directly. Best is to charge at low watt, through cable connection

With 20w charger..using usb c..u need 72 mins from 0-100%. And from 20% to 80% only need 45 mins. So actually i never charge mine overnight. Because i only need 45 mins or less to charge my iphone. I charge it at 9pm. Before 10 already reach 80%. Then i sleep. In the morning usually less 1-2% only. So its okay for me. 😊

i don't know about your claim on wireless vs wired... since there is a guy that did pure wireless and his battery health was still 100% after 1 year with his iphone 13 pro max and it just dropped to 99% health when around the time he recorded the video.... while others using wired were worse off..... and he used wireless charging stands and the official pucks so that helps with heat and he relies of the iphone's method of keeping the phone temps down by itself when charging... plus i just put my fake puck on a spare large ATX PSU that i don't use as a large heatsink and the iphone is never hot... i am thinking of making a heatsink stand for those fake pucks just to charge the iphone while cooling it down significantly..... it will make it charge faster than even those with a standard wired fast chargers on a normal table scenario since charging speed is tied to heat dissipation as well for iphone unlike android where i can just jam 120w into the phone for 15 min to max charge the battery....
@FreakyDudeEx
@FreakyDudeEx Жыл бұрын
1 thing i hate about the iphone is the stupid chip in the cables... because android has offload those chips functions onto the phone itself... in their charging port board.... like its not a genius move... its just common sense... this is probably why i will daily drive both an iphone and an android phone since the android phone i use is a reliable backup with its 120w charging speed of 15min from 0% to 100%.... and it doesn't have a heating problem....
