Today we are going back to basics! Whether you have just bought your first Apple Watch or are upgrading from an older generation, this is the video for you! I will cover everything you need to know from the the Apple Watch’s top essential features to showing you how to optimise your watch in terms of settings, battery life and performance. I will be demonstrating this on my Apple Watch SE, however this video also applies to the Apple Watch Series 7, Apple Watch Series 6, Apple Watch Series 5, Apple Watch Series 4 and Apple Watch Series 3 - all currently supported Apple Watch models! This video will make your experience better and help you get the most out of your Apple Watch and WatchOS. First things first, the apple watch will come separate from the band. Sport band comes in 2 parts. Slide either end into the watch and click into place. Super easy to use mechanism that apple has kept the same over the years - many first and third party bands to choose. To remove the band, press in on either of these buttons and slide to remove. Now that the watch is assembled let’s set it up! First thing is press and hold the side button to power up and bring Apple Watch close to iPhone. On my iPhone 13 I get an on screen prompt. Tap setup for myself. Using the camera, align the watch to pair. It is now paired! Swipe from left to right to switch between watch faces. Press and hold on watch face and swipe to right to add a new watch face. Range of watch faces, some with many complications to show lots of data, others are more clear and look more like a traditional timepiece. Pro tip, use less complications to save battery. Swipe down for notifications. Swipe to left to clear. Swip up for control centre. Quick access to many features and see battery percentage. Can turn on power reserve, ping your iPhone, turn on fash light and more. Click into the digital crown to enter the home screen. Press again to return to watch face. Install apps right from the built-in apple watch app store. Press side button to access multi tasking. Quickly switch between two most recent open apps by double clicking the digital crown. Double press the side button to bring up Apple Pay. Press and hold side button to turn off, show medical ID or start and emergency call. Add new watch face. Notification (only allow important notification on wrist). General. Turn on auto updates. Background app refresh. Turn on bedside mode. Enable screenshot. Keep brightness in middle. Shorten wake duration. Turn off Hey Siri - save battery, instead use digital crown. Turn on emergency sos features - hope to never need but reassuring to have. I like heart features on but can turn off to save battery. Play song on iPhone now playing on AW. Workout app - scroll through tap to start. Weather app - syncs data from iPhone. Calculator - neat tip feature. Heart app. Voice memos. Create and send new message. Use Siri to create a new route. Phone dial pad - uses iPhone to make call, GPS+ cellar model can make calls independently. All of this should give you a good idea on how to setup, optimise and use you new Apple Watch! For me the Apple Watch has become an accessory that I can’t imagine my day without. It is the finer things like, Apple Pay, Maps, receiving Notifications and Siri that make the Apple Watch an essential product I use every day with joy!

I just got an Apple Watch SE 44mm in grey! I love it so much! I upgraded from the s3. It’s a much better Apple Watch than the s3. The battery is amazing, the performance is great. It opens apps a lot faster than my old s3. I love the bigger display. I also love the curved aesthetic of the display rather than the box style on the s3. I recommend this one to most people. Whatever Apple Watch you get pls don’t get the series 3 it’s old , dated and you will simply regret your decision after 2 months of use.

There is not much to say about the Apple Watch SE other than just amazing on every level. From responding to you holding it to your face and even automatically answering a call to automatically recording your jogging at the park then congratulating your first walk is just astounding, but we live in such a diverse world of technology we have come such a long way since the familiar and once-unique design of digital pet (which were quite cutting-edge for the time, and Yak Back that could record 6 second audio memo). The cloth band is a bit uncomfortable so I like the silicon band better, just wish they had them a little longer but depends what the Apple Store had available for that model. Can see why Apple Watch is so popular, makes the Fit Bit a thing of the past.

Close the Watch app and then restart both your iPhone and your watch again: To close the Watch app on your iPhone, double-click the Home button, then swipe up on the Watch app preview. I set a password and after the 15 seconds I have to put in my pass word again i have my phone being used to follow along with you. @@DionMedia Thanks, Dion, but if I answer it on the watch and then go to the phone so the conversation won’t bother others, I don’t see how to transfer it. If I don’t answer on the watch but go directly to the phone, no problem. My friend said there is a small dot to transfer it to the watch but I don’t see it. I think my watch is an SE but on your excellent video it didn’t always match what you were showing.

My problem is that when I am running with the running app on, in the meantime, I am listening to music, sometimes I look at the watch to see how fast I am going, the heart rate etc, unfortunately, the watchface goes back to the music page, but not stay on with the running app, so I have to scroll up or down to find the running app and click into it. That is very dangerous whilst you are running as the distraction may cause your body trouble. How to set it fixed on the running app but not switching to others? Look forward to your advice. Hi Connie, fans from Hong Kong are my friends (I lived there for 4 years, 2008-2012, among the best years of my life (so far :) ). I have the solution for your problem. Open the Apple Watch app on your Iphone, go to settings, then to general and you have the option “return to Watch face” . Set that to always, in that way it will always show your watch face with your running data. Hope this will work

I bought the SE2 two weeks ago and the watchband is too tight on me. I bought it at Best Buy. How can I get a bigger band? I don’t want an aftermarket band because many times they break. I want the original strong Apple band just bigger.

I assume you have the solar loop, which is not adjustable. Look at the inside to see for the size and then buy accordingly. Nothing beats a visit to an Apple store, if there is one in the neighbourhood. Good luck!

@@DionMedia It's a band with holes in it and a metal bump that goes into the holes. Adjustable but not long enough. So far the after market band hasn't broken ... soon I'll take it over to the store and see if they can help.

I had a terrible experience with this watch. battery needs to be recharged. Then after setting up, I cant install apps. Then I had to restart both devices. Then I had to unpair.
