At lunch in 8th grade I didn't show up at my groups usual spot. layed in the grassy field at lunch instead. My best friend at the time (we are dating now) went out and looked for me, walked over asked what i was doing. To which I replied "if i lay here, if i just lay here, would you lie with me and just forget the world. "he smiled and layed down next to me and said "Oh my baby, my little one, how romantic would it be to climb the sky and build a hammock of clouds." so I gave him an earbud and we listened to our favorite songs for a while. Our friends found us and after saying "oOohHh" and teasing us told us to come back. Me and him continued to listen to music and i yawned and he scooted in closer and said "put your head on my shoulder" so i did and we both drifted to sleep. Our friends took a picture of us and shared it with us. Its still in my phone. I haven't seen him since the schools shut down 8 and a half months ago. I miss him and still listen to our playlist.

it felt surreal. I caught a glimpse of him once at picture day and my heart felt like it would jump out of my chest. He was always 8 feet apart or more, and there were like 4 people in the room including us. I can't stand silence and it made me smirk a little he looked at me and said "i missed that the most" and then it was his turn to take a picture, and when they did I said "i missed that the most" and he looked a little flustered. And they took the picture at the perfect time capturing it. My heart sank when i saw him leave the room to his car. I can't wait to see him again. The whole interaction lasted like 3 minutes topps.

Ysil69 I agree. From the very beginning they stressed that even one kiss would kill him. It just wasn't meant to be. It's sad but sticks to the rules of the world. As bad as this sounds, I'm glad the kiss killed him. If it saved him it would break the entire aesthetic and world building the movie had done. They stuck to the plan. EVEN IF THE PLAN IS SADISTIC AND HEART WRENCHING JESUS.

I don’t remember this movie, all I remember is watching it when I was small, being weirded out by it but still thinking it was good. I think I didn’t know English either so I couldn’t understand the dialogue. I tried to convince my mom to watch it for months though. Guess I’ll have to rewatch it Edit: I did. There were so many things I did not get the first time I watched it. I enjoyed the dialogue so much, I laughed half of the time. They went into some deep themes too. 20/20.

SPOILERS FOR THE BOOK ONWARD. I think maybe the best ending would be Acacia still rejecting Jack. She experienced too much turmoil due to him and Joe, and she needs to move on. No, they won't be friends. She can't be friends, considering how much suffering she endured and caused for both of them. So she asks Jack to keep his heart, and let her go. And he does. Their relationship was fleeting, far too short, but it made them happy for a while, and they gained some experience. And going forward, Jack may find happiness with someone else. It's not a happy fairytale ending, but it's an ending, that they deserve. OR HER TEARS, AFTER DROPPING INTO HIS HEART, MELT, AND WARM IT, AND HE SPRINGS BACK INTO ACTION. THAT'S A CHEESY FAIRYTALE ENDING, BUT IT'S A *HAPPY* ONE.
