Tara I seem to use many of the same foundation colors as you and I have backstage in 4n. Try 4n in the summer it works well on my medium skin tone.

I love this primer. I have very dry skin and every foundation I used looks better with it. I use Tatcha's water cream and Chanel's water tint over it, than the Doir face and body. You just need to use a little of it. I never let it set. I also love the tatcha's silk canvas also.

When I went immediately in with foundation over top, I couldn't get it too blend and it would make my foundation look textured. I just haven't been a fan. But I'm so glad it works for you. Hi Tara, Thanks for an awesome review love the swatches. I'm not a fan of glitter but I am loving this highlighter palette I own the whole collection of Dior Backstage so I had to pick this up also. The primer I am enjoying right now has been out for awhile and is great for dry skin not oily skin and it is the Giorgio Armani Maestro UV skin defense primer with spf 50.

Hi Tara, I’m REALLY late to the Dior Backstage Primer but I was very disappointed with the way it made the application of a reliable foundation go on splotchy. I was undecided between this and the Glow primer-I wish I’d chosen the other now 🙁If only I’d viewed your video first! Maybe I should try it with my Backstage foundation (which doesn’t NEED a primer) to get any use out of it. Thanks for the video x

I have combination skin. Dior's backstage primer and foundation (1C because I am a vampire, I guess) are the only foundation + primer combination that will work well for me. Not too matte, not too glossy, not orange/yellow, and they have longevity: 12 hours, for sure, and probably longer.

Hi Tara Lynn. I’m considering buying the Chanel water fresh tint. I’ve watched videos but I’m still not convinced it’s worth buying. It may give a nice “glow” under foundation but is it any different than a liquid highlight or a illuminating primer. Have you tried it?

I recently purchased this primer and the foundation, i do love the foundation , the primer its okay i do like it the only down side of the foundation it does oxidized a lilttle bit on me even tho i found my perfect match shade , other than that i loveeee it , il do highly recommend it x

The biggest problem is that silicone based primers don’t work well with water based foundations and water based primers (such as this one, with aqua/ water being the first listed ingredient) will not work with a silicone based foundation.

Actually, I’ll primers need to set and absorb into the skin before you put on your foundation… That’s a general rule of thumb. Maybe if you do that you will like it better?
