Im seeing all the youtube DHP 2025 reviews since the release. Since I heard DHP got discontinued, I managed to buy 3 bottles of the old 1 (will last me a lifetime or Im gonna sell 1) Im really anxious about smelling it for myself! Seeing all the mixed reviews but ESPECIALLY, all the disapointing ones! Great vid btw!!!

@m.sordam2430 thanks so much for the positive feedback it means a lot. As you can see in the video i really enjoyed the opening. I was fully prepared to settle for iris in the fresh and slightly bright , powdery facet. However the opening is a catfish and what you're left with is very much mainstream sweet Amber and reminiscence of a faint iris somewhere way way in the back.

Im gonna wait till its in store before I buy it, instead of blind ordering it from Dior ( might as well cause Im gonna buy it anyway!😅)

Possibly your best review yet, especially the conclusion where it’s obvious that corporate aims are being prioritised at the expense of the true enthusiasts. For me anyway, the analogy is of the new office manager who decides to implement “his” way. The staff object because things have always run smoothly and well. Demachy has a great legacy with Dior, and it’s so clear that FK has come in and picked on one of the most iconic of the line and decided to put his stamp on it. Disaster. As you say Al, it’s nice but it’s no game changer. As for axing a frag on the basis that it doesn’t sell? I’d dispute that. I recall a chat with a SA years ago when Boss discontinued the “Bottled Intense”. I was told they were selling shed loads of it and the staff were now trying to field questions from frustrated customers. When Dior 2020 was introduced, it was clear they weren’t expecting the backlash they got, hence the re-introduction of the “Original”. My fear now is that DHI is in for the same treatment. Hope not!!!

Niceo video, mister ! It is a well known practice that new perfumers, "alter" the older scents when they come to a new house. Dior Homme Original was done by Mr Olivier Polge in 2005 and then when Mr. Demachy came he made his own version (great one, by the way). DHP 2025 should have been a flanker, not take the Parfum name in vain. Dior is confused, I think. Sub, keep up the good work.

A reformulation like this must only be a directive from Dior's parent company to increase sales since that is the ultimate goal of the conglomerates that buy other brands, to turn them into cash cows. Luckily I had picked up a backup bottle of the Dior Homme Parfum. I suggest everyone who loves the "original" DHP pickup backup bottles.

I as well am very disappointed that they would long road goodbye the OG... I will try the new one, and give it a shot, but the mountain it has to climb is impossible to climb and reach the peak. The new perfumer is now 0 - 2 in my book... I gave two bottles of the OG and a few clones, so I'll be fine... Thanks for the review and insights.

Hit the nail on the head for me. Niche classic gone to be replaced with generic people pleaser. All about the sales numbers. My guess is it's probably cheaper to make too. No good for me or you because we need unique, creative fragrances with character. Thankfully Dior homme isn't my bag so I don't have to be let down also!

The 2011 Dior Homme Intense is the one that started it all for me. I still have a 3/4 full bottle and I will be buried with it! The most amazing scent I have smelt to date, just pipping Tobacolor.

When Dior Homme 2020 came out, people were up in arms, slating the fragrance. Many have turned things around since then and grew to really like the frag. I have got my OG bottle of Dior Homme Parfum. It is rarely worn. Its not a casual wear frag for me.....especially now

For me its a modern DHI with double the iris and freshened. No leather and very weak performance

I'm so disappointed with Dior for this. DHP is my number 2 all-time favourite fragrance after Ombre Nomade. I think Dior shot themselves in the foot with the original DHP because it is such a special masterpiece of a fragrance, which means it is something you only want to wear on special occasions. I think I wore DHP on 4 or 5 occasions throughout 2023. My bottle will last me a long time, so with a backup bottle, I'll be good for, until I'm in my fifties 😂.

A huge marketing gimick, the only thing that has any noticable smell in the iris plant is the root also named orris and before it can be used in perfumery it is aged for years and distilled. Not so straight forward that's why the ingredient is one of the most expensive. Iris, orris really the same ingredient.

Dior isn't trying to appeal to a niche audience, they're trying to sell fragrances. They saw how much money Sauvage line brought in so now they're doing the same thing with the, once unique, Dior Homme line. This is just the reality. Dior is part of a massive conglomerate, LVMH.

I find those fragrances so boring. But I'm a fraghead, a fragrance lover like you. We're not like the masses.

This is not the original dior homme parfum. They should’ve named it something else. But for what it is, it is good. Just disregard the name. Sure it smells like a combination of other top designers, but it is smooth and high quality, albeit a bit synthetic, but thats not necessarily a bad thing. This release reminds me of the Dior homme 2020 release. Everyone hates it at first but after a few years those same people started to appreciate it for what it is. Its going to be the same with DHP 2025.
