The problem is pleasing crowds sells and setting trends normally entails going out on a limb with a product that is not a current trend, is not a current pleaser to a lot of people, and runs the big risk not being followed. I would not be shocked if DHP original ends up in their Privee line.

Here's how I think it's gonna go down: -Dior re-releases Homme Parfum as a new flanker, say Elixir or along those lines. -It gets reformulated, washed down, poorer performance overall -More expensive -Proceeds to do the exact same thing with Homme Intense.

Tried this. DHP25 has a decent opening in the air. On paper and skin, as much as I want to love and buy it, it's just not for me for now as it might grow on me. I find the scent confusing. It doesn't smell like Armani Code parfum, Prada Lhomme or any other Iris-based fragrance that I tried. Pretty sure this could be mass appealing because it's good in the air. Among the currently available DH lineup, I prefer DHI the most. I still think that the older DHP is a masterpiece. This one might be decent in the long term. But not right now.

To be fair to Cuba and all these influencers regarding this fragrance, I think there may be some unfortunate and misleading semantics leading to the confusion on this release. It sure seems like all these influencers were thinking this was a re-release Parfum of the Dior Homme Original DNA, but instead this is more akin to and in line with a parfum release of the Dior Homme 2020 DNA, adding orris/iris etc. Should have just started a new line with the 2020 fragrance release instead of putting it in the Dior Homme line with the same name. Problem solved.

I actually like this iris more. I don't think the overall fragraces smells like ACP but i get the association. It's a cleaner iris. Less makeupish. That's 100% a positive for me but will be a negative for people that love that kind of iris. Me I found this very pleasant and wearable scent. For me, it's the only Dior Homme I've thought after smelling that i'd own and wear asided from Dior Homme Cologne. I think this is trying to be more mass appealing which fragrance "community" will hate.

As far as I'm concerned, there is nothing that mfk does That's good. He loves to use The most unapologetic synthetics on the table. Putting the ridiculous decision of making him the in-house perfumer for Dior, it's sad to see what all these designer houses are doing... Including Chanel, none of them are putting out quality products anymore. Everything is just a cash grab. The good news is we have the Internet to keep things in check now. If reviewers stay honest we will force them back to the '80s when we were getting quality products at a fair price.

Man! I’m not sure why so many people are downing this release. It’s not like we all thought it wasn’t going to be different, we knew this would not compare to the original. Most re-releases and even new interpretations on older fragrances rarely hit the mark. If Dior released this as its own fragrance most people would hype this fragrance up. Love my fragrance KZbinrs but I really wish that out of all new releases you guys wouldn’t down this one. I truly think it’s a solid release despite not smelling more like the original. The biggest thing that gets to me is that most people who hurried to buy this; like me, already have the original, even a back up or more. I’m just wondering what more could you ask for, it’s a newer release meant to be a modern take on the original and in a couple months many minds will be changed on how this smells. I wore this today and enjoyed it throughout my entire work day. I can’t wait to see everyone’s full wearing review, these thoughts will surely change.

Yeah, your wrong there buddy. This is easily the worst Dior Homme in the whole line. I smelled this in the store, and it was an instant turn-off. This fragrance is horribly blended and smells sickly sweet. It smells like iris with candy in it. I'm one of the few people who don't like Dior Homme intense but liked the original Dior Homme parfum, but even the intense was bearable to me.

I love the new one. For me It's better than the original. The original is funky and unwearable. This is far more wearable. The lovers of DHP will be "butthurt", and i understand, It's not "bad" it's good. But they already have it and most have backup bottles. Most people will find the 2024 version more wearable. I never wear my DHP original decant. It's too thick, it's rarely cold here, Also i don't like leather, the iris is that unpleasant kind. I'm more a prada Iris guy. I think it's great and lots of lovers of the original are salty but really for no good reason. They already own DHP original in multiple bottles and the old one was not a big seller. They'll never run out. Most DHP lovers seem to just want more of the same DHP that was not a big seller. From a business standpoint it makes no sense. I would wear this fragrance. I have DHP original and it's not something i reach for. I think this is made for the masses. This is not made for people that want difficult, niche, hard to wear fragrances. This is an attempt to have Sauvage level sales not DHP original level of sales. And look, i'm part of the masses. I like wearable fragrances. But people shit on MYSLF and MYSLF is a best seller.

This is the parfum version of Dior Homme 2020. They made it less special to be more versatile and wearable every day. It's not as good as the OG, but I'm not mad at it at all. That being said, I have a lifetime supply of the original. Eventually, I think MFK is going to reformulate every DH flanker in the line.
