Respectfully i disagree... DHP made me do a retake on the complexity of Dior Homme and appreciate it for that. I love DHP for the dry deep leathery iris... to me it does not smell cheap at all, instead it smells contemporary! I have DH, DHI and DHP - and i would rate DH and DHP on the same level, before DHI.

Big fan, but that was harsh. Noses are different, but hard to see how this fragrance "is just bad". This is a perfect example of why, if you love frags, you need to get your OWN nose on them. Rating this a 1 or even a 2, seems irresponsible to me considering the many "just bad" choices out there. If one is disappointed, I can understand that, and I always respect the opinion of others, this review not withstanding. I'm sure the Fragrance Bros would agree, that everyone should still sample this for themselves...as with all fragrances. Nice job executing the review as always, but I respectfully disagree.

Gene Isaac Hey Gene, thanks for your comment. I honestly think you are a little out of line here. I have to tell you, as a reviewer, the only responsibility that I personally have is to be honest. Anything other than honesty would be irresponsible. It seems that many in the community seem to think that bad scores like this shouldn't exist, but that's completely wrong. As a person, I have certain opinions about a fragrance, and as a reviewer, I let my subscribers know what I think about it. THAT's my responsibility, and the only person accountable to that is me. I do completely agree that everyone should try it on their own. And I appreciate your comment all the same. :)

My intention was not to question your honesty. My gut feeling tells me you are one of the nicest and most honest guys I've subscribe to. (You And Jer) I've seen most of your videos. With that said, I have to be honest. I forgot, when I left my first comment, that you grade on a scale of 1-5. My thoughts were that you were giving DHP a "2" based on 1-10. Please forgive me. As far as "bad scores" are concerned, I find it refreshing that you are completely honest. I just thought you might be just OVERSTATING how you felt about DHP. Gene Isaac No offense taken from your comment. I appreciate the candid and respectful comment. :) You are right, this isn't a disgusting fragrance. There are much worse out there. I can also see how we may have spent too much time saying how bad it was, but I personally didn't think it was overstating or redundant, really. Mostly we were disappointed because of our high hopes for the fragrance and our love for Dior and especially the Dior Homme reputation. Personally, I just think this doesn't hold a candle to other DH offerings and even on its own isn't anything special. But it's not the worst thing I've ever smelled by a mile. haha. I too totally disagree with your opinions on this one guys but i do however respect them, but to compare this to Valetino uomo is ridiculous as to my nose they are completely miles apart, the only thing they have in common is that they are in the same genre. I enjoy this scent immensely and i find it to be very much like DHI but different enough to warrant owning both, to say this is bad then you mas as well say that DHI is also a bad scent, which of course it isnt. The simplicity of this scent is what makes it so beautiful, sometimes complexity in a scent is not always a good thing, i find this scent to be fairly linear in its composition, but i find that a good thing because all the notes i detect are the ones i loved the most in DHI. Creating a linear scent is actually quite a hard thing to achieve!

I have to disagree that this was a money grab. IMO this release was an attempt to masculine up a fragrance that many men felt was too feminine. I'm glad they did it and prefer DHP to DH and DHI.

I was unimpressed the first couple of times I smelled DHP. At the time I think my exception was set too high hoping I would prefer DHP over DH and DHI. As George stated in the review DHP was like a rough draft of DH. I don't know what changed between now and three months ago but when I tried DHP today to finish off the decant, I was totally smitten with it. All the fragrance notes just seemed to pop into place if that makes any sense. The lipstick smell of DH wasn't as strong with DHP in the opening. About 20 minutes later DHP began to smell powdery and smoky like roasting marshmallows over a campfire, just not as sweet. The smokiness along with the powder and the slight sweetness is amazing. Maybe DHP is one of those fragrances that smells better as the juice ages. DHP is definitely full bottle worthy IMO.

11 months later do you both still feel the same about DHP? For me I like it the most out of the line but am also late to the fragrance game so smelled them all at about the same time so didn't really have any preexisting expectation of how DHP should compare to the others in the line. I know George said that it took him a while to like DHI so was wondering if DHP would be the same or if you still both strongly dislike it. Either way appreciate your opinions on this and the many other fragrances you review.

I recently got a bottle of DHP(finally!) that smells very close to DHI. For someone who already owns DHI, this might be a redundant purchase. I have to say that DHP is thicker and, believe it or not, more longlasting than DHI, which already performs like crazy. Compared to DHI, DHP is a bit sweeter and more resinous. DHI to my nose got more wood and iris is more accentuated because it is not buried in the sweetness. It is still a good flanker, imo. Now let's talk about Sauvage...or not.

Honestly I don't get this review, Dior Homme Parfum is better than DHI. I don't see how you can like Dior Homme and not like this. It is almost like you guys are smelling a different product. Are you sure you did not get a fake? I don't see how it smells like nothing. I smell leather, iris, woods. I literally have never worn this and not gotten a compliment. I don't wear it often, just for special occasions so I have only worn it a handful of times but I get compliments every single time and even extremely forward compliments. Last time I wore it, was for my anniversary and I took the wife to see the musical Wicked. As I was seating down the lady in the seat in front of me got up turned around and said " You smell delicious! So sexy! I could eat you right up!" Right in front of her husband and my wife. It was weird. The only thing that saved me was she was about 15 years older than my wife and I so I blew it off. LOL.

I can't disagree more with you both on DHP!! It makes me wonder if we have smelt the same thing :S Until a week ago, I didn't have any Diors in my collection, so one day I went to El Corte Inglés (a department store) and sniffed the whole Dior Homme line, intending to buy one of them. I wanted to prefer DH or DHI, because of the price... but I couldn't, I couldn't buy DHI knowing that I loved so much DHP!

I respect both of your opinion. On my skin however this is banging. The dry down for me is mildly floral massively smoky masculine blast. I have tried DHI and I get why you're upset. For me sometimes less is more in terms of ingredients. These seem to be well done and the longevity is there as well. If you're already deep into the Homme line, definitely try before buy.

Dunno guys, I bought this one a few months back as a tester was available for a reasonable price, and I like it more than DHI (which I also have). I like the somewhat drier aspect of this scent, and it sits well on my skin. There's a rose note in the beginning which reminds me distantly of Oud Isphahan (although Oud Isphahan is a far more complex scent), and I find it evolves pleasantly as the hours go by. Thanks for the review, though.

I have to respectfully disagree and I feel the video was made pretty premature. But I feel that way about a few of the fragrance bros reviews. Pure coffee was one as well as this. IMHO dior homme parfum is its own beast. And I feel with flankers they are doomed by comparisons to the originals and it prevents us from being able to objectively review it. I did the same thing. I wasnt a fan of dior homme parfum. Nor was I a fan of pure coffee. But as time went on I had to face the fact that the walls I put up from feeling betrayed because it was nothing like the original and I had to look at it as its own fragrance rather than a continuation of anything. We as consumers ted to feel we can be advocates for what a company is trying to portray with its releases. None of us work for dior. None of us work for creed or chanel. So when we get personally offended a fragrance misses the mark with us I think its important to remember that those are our own failures and not the failures of the company coming out to play. We made the mistake of pretending to know what this company meant to say. But unless your name is Francois Demachy you really are just a spectator. You are not the creative force who is telling the story. Perfumers are authors. They tell a story. And sure if an author makes a sequel and its not as good as the original you sometimes have to ask yourself is it the author who has lost focus or is It me who isnt interpreting what they want to say. I think had this never been called dior homme anything it would have been better received. Put it in a private collection bottle and well I think you know where Im going with it.

tim moran no one is offended at this release, and we aren't saying that in this video. We do make a comparison to the DH line...because Dior put it there. And since they put it there, they are necessarily asking for the comparison themselves. You are right, if they would have released it as a separate fragrance apart from the DH line, then it would have rightly been reviewed in that light. But they decided to do this, so it deserves the comparison. But even on its own right, it is still not a good fragrance in our opinion, and we mentioned that in the review. It just doesn't smell good to us. And it doesn't seem up to Dior's standard for fragrances.

i completely disagree w/ur review. Im not sure how much you have worn this scent....I get huge projection and massive longevity. Three sprays last forever. This frag could be part of an exclusiv scent line.. Its rich and a bit smoky and leathery. Three sprays almost over does it....I have heard many other contrary comments to your review from other reviewers and friends...Not sure if you just liked bashing the scent or not? It took a bit of getting used to for me...i bought it in the summer and it wasnt till now (late fall) for it to bloom properly on my skin........i think this is close to a masterpiece.

Maybe you arent speaking of Dior Homme Parfum...it only comes in a 75ml bottle..and has never been in a 100ml bottle.....perhaps you mean Dior Homme Intense..that does come in a 100mg bottle and is an eau de parfum stregnth..

Have the 2020 100 ml version of this. Also a 2017 bottle of DHI and 2021 Dior Homme Original. Smelling these side by side, i understand DHP as the Metal (goth/symphonic metal, perhaps) version of DH, not for everyone liking. It's a burning Iris on leather and smoky woods, on contrast with the carnal, voluptuous iris on DHI and the etereal iris of the original. When you like something divisive, it's a sign that it's special. Dior Homme Parfum it's a future cult classic, you can bet on that.

I love DH and DHI, but I ABSOLUTELY love DHP. I love it so much I bought 3 bottles of DHP back in 2014 and planning on finishing the first bottle this winter. To me DHP is the masculine version of DHI. Its deep and bold. I like to wear DHP when I'm going out. DHI is for close encounter dates. DH is a good casual scent I'd wear to school/work. If I had to pick, DHP would be my favorite of the three. Also, you never smell fragrances directly on wear you spray it. You have to waft it into the air to get a more true scent.

Well I got my bottle today of Dior Parfum. I think its pretty good. . It almost smells to me like they added a hint of A*men pure leather to DHI or something. I really don't get how or why you guys would rate this so damn low and bash it so much lol. Its really on par with the rest of the line. I can see some people have a preference for DHP, or DHI, or DH etc. . but it isn't like this one is a completely different fragrance to me. I really like it, but I don't think it is as beast as people are saying. I agree with you the projection for me seems more on the average or light side.. but I could be wrong about that. this is just a first impressions.. I hope you try this one out again and give it another shot. Maybe ull feel the same, who knows, but i think its worth a second try

I just received my sample decant in the mail this morning and I actually liked it. It sits really close to the skin after about an hour on me. But I'm getting excelent longevity. Protection is good in the begining but it is not as dense as DHI. I definatly liked it tho. It isn't DH or DHI. it takes on a life of its own after about 10min. The leather jumps out front and I smell wood under it but just barely. The iris is fleeting but it seems to dance in and out as I wear it I get glimpse of it here and there. Not as good as its older brothers. I will continue to test this for a bit. But I think I will order it. Thanks for your review tho guys!!

I tried it out several times already and I honestly dont understand why so many people prefer DHP over DH or DHI. I Mean i dont agree it deserves 1-2 stars (that's not fair imo) but come on... i don't think it beats DH/DHI. In my case i think it's because of personal taste. I just can't stand the rose and leather notes in this scent. They remind me of Van Cleef & Arpels pour homme which is not my cup of tea. But still, i don't find it that bad

DHP is a disappointment for me for it lacks fineness after the initial beautiful iris phase. Mid-dry-down is overly sweet thick lotion type scent. Absurd-level-sweetness.

I really don't think it's that bad. I get the similarities to dior homme with a heavier leather note, and some roses that extends throughout with the leather. It's really not a bad fragrance in my opinion. Not sure if it's quite my taste yet but I will test further. I probably end up splitting most of it out and keeping 5 mls for myself. Probably get DHI which is more my taste as DH is my favorite fragrance ever as of yet. It's just perfect.

When I first saw it, I was very exited to smell it. I found it delicious on that time, but I believed that DH and DHI were better than it. I tried it more time and it degrade on my mind by time. I still think that it is a good fragrance, but not as good as 30% of fragrances available in the store. It is somehow boring and sometimes it smells like some moisturizer cream.

I like this fragrance, it's grown on me. But i was really disappointed in the start, it's like a superstrong opening of Iris but the drydown it totally ok. I wouldn't recommend anyone to blindbuy this tho, try it first or you might waste 100$. If someone who said they liked masculine fragrances asked me if they should buy this, the answer would be NO.

Reading some of these comments you would think the Bros just bad mouthed handicapped children. I too smelled a small sample of DHP while looking for my ace leather scent and was not impressed (pure distance M also did not wow me either) and I LOVE DH and DHI. DHP and PDM made me so sure I went with a 100ml bottle of TF TL! I'll give DHP another shot when/if we get it state side. Thanks for the review!

I did what you said not to do...and blind bought this. I CAN BARELY SMELL THIS! I sprayed about 6 sprays on both wrists and the back of my hands, and a few hours later I can smell almost nothing. I just bought the new 100ml bottle of DHP. Honestly... I don't see where everyone talks about beast mode. I mean it projects normally for about 1h like any other fragrance but it's not gonna fill a room. It's summer now and it's nice to wear it. I am at home and it's warm and the fragrance is not overwhelming at all. Why for cold weather only? Don't really get it. In terms of longevity (and I am not talking about you guys digging your nose in your skin to smell it or even being at 1inch) it's quite poor. Perhaps 4h? So the Leather note. Yes it's there. People around me says it smells more like something bitter like vinegar than leather. Oh leather? OK maybe but they wouldn't say it's leather if you didn't tell them. (on TF ombre leather I really smell leather) So final thoughts I really like it but definitely not a beast mode projection monster nor super long lasting on skin. Maybe you guys spray heavily on your clothes to get that? Oh one last thing. My wife says it's smells like bubble gum. Voila voilà guys

So glad you guys covered this and cleared some things up because we have other reviewers ranting and raving about how this one is the best yet! I've been a subscriber for a while now and my taste leans more towards yours than these other reviewers I've seen talk about this fragrance. .. I think just because it was being released in only certain areas, it's parfum, advertising was great, not everyone is gonna have it. They were on the hype train before it even arrived. ... ? I think Dior Homme Parfum is really nice, but I do love hearing the negative reviews. Far too many reviewers review only fragrances they love or are afraid to say anything negatives about loved fragrances for fear of dislikes and/or losing subscribers. C'est la vie.

I completely agree with you guys! I had a bottle of this for two weeks and I sold it. Im still selling samples of Dior homme parfum on eBay, go check it out! This fragrance gave me a headache! I gave it multiple tries and I had to scrub it off every single time!

Hey guys, I don't know why it says leather. It is very much available in USA. I just bought 2 bottles of these. It smells exactly same as Dior Homme but amped up. I think somebody sent u wrong samples of something else. Sorry guys, it is what it is.

sydgia01 It's possible that it became available after we recorded this. Not sure. I'd have to check. But it's not a bad sample. It was a decant from a friend. We just disagree about the smell. :)

You guys must've gotten a bad sample. I see Parfum as a natural middle ground between DHI and DH. Not as sweet and think as DHI, not as powdery and bright as DH Weaker in Performance than both, but still very sexy as it sits on the skin. Now it's def not worth the price tag we in the us have to pay for it (about $180) but if it was the same price as its brethren i doubt the hate here would be seriously justified.

It wasn't a bad sample. It was a decant from a friend's bottle. Honestly we dislike this fragrance apart from the price, mostly. It's just a bad fragrance in our opinions.

All modern fragrances use synthetic ingredients, so unless they claim to use only all-natural ingredients, all of these fragrances smell synthetic. Everyone has different tastes in fragrances. George just happens to like one synthetic fragrance, and you like another.

I know it has been quiet a long time, and I respect a lot your opinion, cauze you are amazing. In this case, however, I do not share it. I don't know if they have changed the formula or what, but I tried the 3 dior hommes, and I only bought this one. True it is, that Dior homme intense is now so watered down, that it cannot compete even with Valentino Uomo Intense or with Zara 9.0!!! I get that it is a wonderful scent, but if it cannot endure even 3 hours, I can only smell it at home to enjoy it. On the other hand, dior homme parfum is a beast mode fragance (12hs+ easily) and it is my favorite parfum of all time, even compared to Giorgio Armani Myrre Imperial, cauze it has better performance and an affordable price. Did you try it nowadays? Cauze maybe they have reformulated it for the better...

I love this video and feel that the fragrance bros are back. I too felt that they lost something when Jer left but these new ones are some of the best they have ever made. Dave has done a masterful job of trying to bring experienced reviewers in to give altenate takes on his own opinion. Ive been a Dior fan boy in the past and am now gradually moving into the disenchanted camp. Mind you I own a fair amount of dior and would probably buy a backup bottle of several of them if they even hinted at running dry. But just because they have been good in the past doesnt mean they are now. ISO-E regs have forced Dior to use less of this chemical and lets face it, they along with Terre D'Hermes overused it for the longest time. Dior did a really good job of not giving away too much quality but there was lots of chatter about Vintage versus Modern DHI and Homme, silver versus black stems etc. Now the new IFRA and Oakmoss regs are coming into play and there are going to be more sucky releases forthcoming. You can count on it. I predict in 10 years time American Perfumeries will take a major step forward and French and European ones will suffer. And there are going to be continued reformulations and face palm type new releases. I want to see reviewers give honest opinions and not be fanboys of the house. Any house, and especially the house of Dior which was a leader in the industry. The only thing that really bothers me is when a reviewer crosses the line between presenting himself as a reviewer and then uses earned capital of respect to market products. Ive bashed Dave a little for this in the past and Im not a fan of Max Forti selling product on his channel and even Dans splits make you wonder sometimes. These are the kind of reviews that I want to see Dave and his channel do. Good Job Guys. I get tired of everyone saying every fragrance is worth buying. When you get between 50-100 fragrances or *gasp* more it just isnt true. How many guys hit the 3 year mark in their fragrance journey and do what Greggie, Frank, and Jer start doing and say, "to the heck with it, Im getting rid of fragrances I dont wear or use much and that arent my favorites and Im going to concentrate on the ones I do love and I only need 10-20 and maybe 30 of those." What Dave and George are saying is that if you have Homme and Homme intense then its not going to be a crises if you dont run out and get Eau or Parfum. And Im really glad to see someone stand up and have the balls to say it. Yes this is a bit crude but I just get sick of people trying to start hype trains for fragrances that arent good, they dont need, they wont wear, and they arent going to use, and will probably try and swap or split. People didnt mind when they bashed Valentine Uomo but Dior is a beloved name. But they shouldnt get a free pass on a crappy release. Perfume houses are going to struggle with how to sell product when many of the best ingredients are off limits. Creeds going to struggle and Dior is going to struggle and many others as well. And its good to see 2 straight shooters stand in front of the slings and arrows and call it like it is. Everyone knows that Ive thrown a few darts at Dave but I will gol darned well stand up for him and George too for having the gumption and guts to stand up and point at the emporer with no clothes. Dior has been sucky lately and Im glad someone isnt afraid to admit it. Great Review Guys - I applaud you - Keep it up

Hi Fragrance Bros! I was wondering if you could recommend a real, true lemon perfume? All the ones I've tried have been conflated with other notes like fruit and florals, which are nice of course, but not what I am after. On the other end of the spectrum, they will smell like lemon essential oil or bergamot, which to me is VERY different from a lemon cut in half smell. I really like Acqua Viva, if you have smelled that one, but it is so expensive. So, do you have any ideas on a crisp, singular lemon perfume?

Hmm... I think I had tried that actually! Awhile back.. if its the same one, I don't think I liked it very much, sorry:(. It sort of was more sweet/ lemon essential oil rather than freshly cut lemon on a wooden table in the hot sun. Thank you so much for the suggestion though. If I pass by BBW I will try it again.

I liked the review but i do not agree with you. I think that DHP is a great fragrance and i get that leather not for sure. But i still like DHI more. But hayyyy it is great that we have different taste about thinks . It would be very boring life to live in if we all had same taste :)

Good to see an honest review rather than a reviewer(s) jumping on the bandwagon. Some people love it, some hate it, it's just how the game works. But people getting so worked up over an honest opinion and posting quite frankly disgusting, insulting and immature comments is something that just baffles me. Obviously collecting fragrances is a passion, but when it comes down to it, it's just smelly water. I've been sent a 10ml decant, sprayed it once and haven't touched it since. People all have different tastes, I get complimented every day wearing perfumes that have been bashed by reviewers, but I like them so thats what counts. Well there are many different dior homme. there is dior homme edt, then there is dior homme intense and that one is edp. this one is dior homme parfum and its also edp but way way way way way stroonger than dior homme intense and regular dior homme

Cannot disagree more. DHP is so gorgeous to me from opening to the very end, so much more sophisticated and deeper than DHI and also very potent. I respect DHI but it is more onedimensional and smells to me like powdery sugar tastes.

Yeah I did like it, but I ended up favoring DHI and swapped it since I didn't want both. Its totally subjective, but I can see how people can like one over the other. Best thing to do is try it yourself. After my bottle of DHI i might go back to DP
