Congrats Maggy on your new Saddle bag! You're right, this is such an iconic Dior bag that you must have it in your collection. I purchased my Saddle bag in Grey Stone right before the price increase. Phew! The white is so beautiful, but I don't trust myself in keeping it clean all the time. I'm a shoulder bag girl, so I enjoy wearing it on its own without a guitar strap, just like the OG. The Warm Taupe is such a nice neutral. Good choice! Looking forward to your review on it!

So I was debating between the small book tote in the Toile de Jouy print or a saddle in the classic Oblique. But was also considering saddle in leather too.... so many options! I just don't know yet haha

Purse peace! So glad you got the taupe color, much more classic/timeless. Mom’s are the best! You’re so lucky your SA was able to hold that bag that long for you. 24 hours is quick, but two weeks is a bit generous. Glad you got it, but if you had passed on it, it would have been swept up quickly. Enjoy your new bag

Yayyy your new saddle is gorggg!! I recently got the white one for my birthday as well and I'm still trying to get used to wearing it. It is a very unique looking bag so I find it a bit more challenging to style with outfits. And I totally agree with the price point being a hard pill to swallow. My husband (who got it for me as a bday gift) was more willing to spend that much money for Chanel but was very reluctant when it came this bag. I had to convince him that I am in love with it and that it's worth the price point. 😆

If I ever get the Saddle Bag, it'll likely be from the men's collection. I'm not a fan of the CDs on the sides. I definitely needed the reality check on price points😅 I'm holding myself to celebrating milestones for bag purchases, and I've been able to save a lot this year. Deciding between an expensive Givenchy bag, a "reasonable" vintage Chanel (would be my first), and Bottega's Kraft Pouch (that I've wanted for a year now) has been difficult. At this point I can afford to buy one of the latter 2, but I would love y'alls advice on how to decide. Do I pick the most expensive, the well-priced vintage, or the one I've wanted the longest?

I feel like with Dior bags (except the Lady Dior and the book tote), their price is actually the cost of the bag plus the cost of a strap because it just looks so good, and the strap is about 50% of the appeal of Dior for me

I know for a fact that Dior Saddle bag was under $2k because my cousin bought one in like 2000-2001 and she is cheap and I know there is no way she spent over $2k on that purse. She had the Dior blue oblique and she LOVEDDDDDDDD that purse, even though you cant put anything in it. If your mom needs a new kid, she can def adopt me. :)
