Dipetane Fuel Additive, Improved MPG and Acceleration? Diesel Additive Tested

I’ve not used this yet, but for last 15 odd yrs I’ve always used 2-EHN added to each tank, my Diesel cars have always ran like a dream.. it also pays to add 2 stroke low ash mineral oil every now and again 👍

@@nigelcarter7740 I’ve not tried that one, but I did used to put mineral low ash 2 stroke in one of my old cars. I stopped using it as there are additives like zinc in it, which is great for anti wear properties but can cause the injector tips to fowl.

I used to use dipetane , these days I use a taste of fully synthetic two stroke , but only on older stuff without dpf's ,, these days there are a lot of hitech cleaners and wonder juices , but nothing beats clean premium quality diesel , you can see the difference in the live numbers on RR if some ones running supermarket diesel.

@@tomthompson7400 yea you’re probably right. I found the Liqui Moly diesel purge did wonders for my BMW, the results have probably worn off now though. I used to run 2 stroke in one of my old cars years ago, its the cheapest mineral stuff you’re meant to use as far as I recall but then I read that one of the ingredients can cause fowling of the injectors. Maybe the zinc or something but I can’t remember for sure

its supoose to lubricate the fuel and clean the injectors and other carbon build up making it a bit more efficient to drive however the biggest use is to lower emmissions for the MOT or NCT here in Ireland people put it in before the test and pass easy, or if you fail the emissions test run some through until you do the retest and do the uphill at 3.5k revs for a few miles and that will lower it.

This stuff 100% works. My last car had turbo troubles and smoked a lot. Tried loads of different additives for months on end and the stuff that you pump up and spray in. None of it worked for long. After using dipetane the problems cleared up so from there i just used to add some every time i filled up

I use it on my Skoda fabia diesel….. it certainly works for me ….fuel consumption na!…. But seems smoother running Your test was the usual technically proficient 🤦🏻‍♂️….good grief! 🤣

I've used it for years in both petrol and diesel cars. It does improve the emissions at MoT time and is worth the cost You won't see much of a difference until after a couple of tanks worth. I also add a glug of mineral 2 stroke oil in each tank which does make a diesel a bit quieter!

@@thomaswykes3647 yea I know what you’re saying. I’ve used mineral 2t in a diesel I had a few years ago. I may try it again for a vid, it can potentially fowl the injector tips up due to some of of the additives in it though. Zinc is the main issue I believe

When I was robbing red diesel from work years ago I used to put half a litre of two stroke and a bottle of injector cleaner into a five gallon drum and my old Volvo ran pretty well on it my old Volvo is still on the road but to be fair I've tried pretty much every thing in it over the years

I think it increaces the cetane count in the fuel, to give better ignition. There is no silver bullet, good service shcedules. Once in a while drive it like you stole it.
