Philosykos is hands down my favorite fig fragrance of all time, I have had the EDT for years but now that I am almost finished my bottle I am leaning strongly towards the EDP. Great video and thanks for the in depth side by side comparison , I really enjoyed that!

saw this after i already purchased the edp duty free, but i'm glad i made the right choice! you're spot on with the edt being more bright and citrusy, while the edp was woodier and milky. it smells a bit more complex to my nose and i think the edp will be a great summer scent for me.

I absolutely love EDT, the freshness and feel of single fragrance-like perfume is exquisite! I love perfumes where the main scent is easily identifiable and fresh, and it's been so hard to find something like it, the EDT ticks all the boxes!

Have you tried L’Artisan Parfumeur’s Premier Figuier? Olivia Giacobetti created it two years before she created Philosykos. I’ve been trying to decide on a fig fragrance and these two are both lovely but quite similar.

I get the exact opposite: edt milkier and edp more leafy.

I love the opening of the EDT but the milky/coconut note in the drydown gets a bit too strong for me which gives me a headache sometimes. Is the sweet milky/coconut note even stronger in the EDP or is it tamed by the woody notes? Do you think the EDP is worth sampling?
@talitahamzah27042 жыл бұрын
For me edp is more woody for sure and muddy . First spray its smell like wet soil after the rain.
@Loriannelee Жыл бұрын
The edp is more woody and you smell more of the woody black pepper on the dry down.

Fantastic review! I bought the EDP as a Chrissy present for my Mum last year, it reminds me of the fig tree at my folks place as it literally smells like a fig tree that is releasing its perfume in the hot summer sun. I love this fragrance its just divine and am so glad you did review on it! As for this house there is a more expensive line of Diptyque which has the special Benjoin Bohème.

Fig leaves and coconut ?? I bought it because I liked that it smelled like grass (I miss those perfumes from the 90s) and I thought the artwork on the bottle was of garlic 😅 I bought EDT because its lighter/fresher. I have a sample of EDP, I can tell it lasts longer but it legit just smells like GRASS nothing else and it’s just too strong. Smells more masculine to me

I just got the EDP and it smells of cut grass, no lactonic quality at all which is what I hoped for, on top of that, it doesn't last. The green smell softens as it dries and then is just a skin scent, a let down for me.

Unpopular opinion: Diptyque makes no sense to me. I’ve tried about 3 or 4 fragrances of theirs….they ALL smell like green leaves. I actually like a green fragrance but this house is a botany class. I truly dislike it to the point it makes me angry.

@@memegimygimy1526 I actually really enjoy the EDT version of Do Son which isn't green. Incidentally, Philiosikos has grown on me. I wouldn't repurchase, but I am enjoying it more.

OK, so here is what I want to know: how much, if any, of the sweet, chewy-textured fig fruit/nectar/milk is there in either the EDP or EDT of this? I like fig and date fruit/nectar/milk notes, like in D&G K and especially John Varvatos OG. But in listening to your review it sounds like it's all green leaves, tree bark, etc. and no real chewy milky sweet fig fruit. I have Dior Dune Pour Homme, which has fig leaf and fig tree bark notes. It's really good for what it is. Very green, realistic tree accords. It reminds me of climbing trees when I was a kid. And when you described a Philosykos accord as breaking a branch and smelling the innards, tha describes Dior Dune Pour Homme to a Tee. That astringent, moist, bitter light green smell that exactly replicates what I remember as a kid snapping branches from live trees. It sounds like Philosykos is very similar to Dior Dune Pour Homme. Yes? I just wish Dior had put a nice prominent sweet chewy fig fruit note on top of all that green. And it sounds like Philosykos won't give me that either.

I haven't tried Dior Dune, but for me personally, Philosykos EDP has a lot of that milky sappy quality if you're into that! But there's a bitterness because of the leaves/tree they are trying to recreate.

Are Diptyque’s solid perfumes worth it? Do they last long on the skin?

Thank you for this video! Very useful, as I m currently debating between the two. I have tried edp before and just ordered a sample of the edt. Based on what you said, think I m very likely gonna go with edp since I also don’t want it to be citrusy.
