Their old stuff in my opinion is better than their newer stuff, I like deeper, strange lyrics, the natural voice over the ripped throat screams, I miss this look too, but the sound is what means the most....each to their own, the new Diru is still much better than a lot of other music, I just miss music like this.

Right After this Kyo Suffered from hearing loss in his ear. It wasn't from 'smoking', or anything else. Some of these things may have contributed to his later health issues. But right after this his voice changed dramatically. And he had to go to the hospital a lot. He also gained a lot of weight from medicine he had to take, and still lost most of the hearing in his ear. That is why it is very difficult for him to pronounce much of his japanese now, and english. He was very upset about it..:[

Dir en grey is an experimental band. Meaning their musical style changes from one extreme to another. It clearly states on their Myspace EXPERIMENTAL, that is why the sound varies from one extreme to the next.

thats a good thing that they have changed their look. When they were in their 20's the vk style was fine, but now they would look quite bad playing their heavy stuff in dresses... They are grown up men now, look how kisaki looks stupid nowaday with its vk style. They always evolved thourgh their carreer. They stated themselves that they left the VK scene at a certain point in their career. At no stage was " Dak visual kei " mentioned or even considered a proper term. They're not visual kei now, its that simple

1. Oshare is a sub-style of VK, baroque introduced it. 2. Angura-Kei is not a subgenre, since it's actually older than VK itself. Shibuya- and Nagoya-Kei only depict that they're from those cities/districts, nothing else. Nagoya is darker than other styles, though. Eroguro-Kei is like a mix of Angura K. and VK~ While J-Punk and J-Ska are music genres, silly.

As if I wouldn't know that eroguro means erotic grotesque. xD It's just an abbreviation. Oshare Kei did derive from VK though, styling-wise. As said, baroque (whose members all came from kote VK bands) decided on a lighter styling. That way they basically "invented" the (nowadays oldschool) oshare kei. Also, neither VK nor oshare are music genres, but I'm just repeating myself here anyway. Whatever, I think we elaborated on this enough.

any of those names in Kei are NOT music genre, its a movement of dressing style.Also, You Cannot say oshare is this music genre or that, because oshare is only the way they dress, its just that a band like an cafe would never do music like the piass, it wouldnt go with their clothing style.

No, they're not VK anymore. The last time they used to be SLIGHTLY VK was the WTD album and perhaps the Clever Sleazoid single. After that, they totally laid down the eye liner and all that stuff. "Dark VK" is a stupid term too, since usually VK is dark anyway. Oshare doesn't count.

hehe trust me i like how he looks...i find him very sexy. but his skin has begun to get a bit baggy, not with age but with his smoking issue. thats what happens when you do a pack a day (or more). he's gotten a bit scruffy, as well...but thats just his personal decision/style and i have no say in that, its what he prefers. but the smoking has taken a toll on him. look up some current pics. trust me, i dont have a problem with it.
